ASSABIL Association (ASSABIL) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1997 to establish and promote public libraries and open cultural spaces in Lebanon.

- We provide Free access to the three municipal public libraries of Beirut
- We support a network of 20 public lib
raries all around Lebanon
- We implement community outreach programs through a mobile library that visits public schools and NGOs serving underprivileged children
- We organize regular cultural and educational activities organized in Beirut
- We manage a resource and Training Center for professionals in public libraries, schools, cultural centers, and community-based organizations
- We provide consultancy services in establishing and operating libraries in partnerships with municipalities across Lebanon. About Beirut Municipal Public Libraries? ASSABIL has been commissioned by the Municipality of Beirut to manage and operate the municipal public libraries in the neighborhoods of Bachoura (since 2000), Geitawi (since 2004) and Monnot (since 2008), as well as the launch of the mobile libraries, Kotobus, in 2008 serving mainly public schools and non-formal education centers in need in remote areas. How to support us? There are many ways you can support ASSABIL and public libraries in Lebanon: by volunteering at the libraries, contributing money, getting involved in a project, etc. Any comment that does not match the ethics on ASSABIL page, will be deleted.
