The celebration began with the opening speech of Dr. Darina Saliba Abi Chedid - Director of the Center, in which she indicated the connection of this ceremony to the history of the Center and the importance of music in building world peace during this holy season, followed by a welcome speech of the head of the monastery, Father Simon Abboud. The evening was filled with the prominent presence of high-level official, religious and cultural personnel, and was also marked by the participation of the center’s director on the flute along with the band to perform their final piece GLORIA.
Also, aligning with the core principle of CISH-UNESCO in developing civic engagement and community support, and in collaboration with the International College (IC), the center organized a heartwarming project aimed at bringing joy and spreading cheer to underprivileged children and to young adults who are mentally challenged. The launching activity was held at CISH on December 15 and involved the preparation of gingerbread cookies to be gifted to the children.
