The Lady Gordon Opportunity Centre is calling on the St. Lucian community to join the parents who have volunteered to serve on a Parent Teacher Community Association at the school based in Ciceron. The PTCA has already organised an activity for the Observance of Down Syndrome day March 21 2023. We take in this report for more on the PTCA at the Lady Gordon Opportunity Centre. The meet and greet session was designed as a fun event where parents, teachers and the members of the community could socialize and discuss the benefits of a PTCA. One of the parents, Marianne Peter has volunteered to head the PTCA. She’s issued a call for more parents to join the movement. Dale St. Juste, the Special Education Officer, emphasised to parents the critical role that parents have to play in the success of the education system in St. Lucia The establishment of Parent Teacher Community Associations is in keeping with a mandate from EQuIP, the Education Quality Improvement Project, of the Ministry of Education.
