CARDTP Partners with Monroe University to Foster Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Saint Lucia
The Caribbean Digital Transformation Project (CARDTP), under its ‘Digital Skills and Technology Adoption’ initiative, is proud to partner with Monroe University to deliver the ‘Tech Innovation and Digital Entrepreneurship Programme.’ This initiative is designed to equip Saint Lucian individuals and businesses with the essential skills to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving digital economy.
The programme features two distinct 15-week courses aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship at varying experience levels. One course targets aspiring entrepreneurs with little to no prior business experience but with the desire and aptitude to become full-fledged entrepreneurs. The second course caters to established entrepreneurs who have been in business for over a year and are eager to adopt digital tools and practices to scale their operations effectively.
A total of 120 participants will benefit from this programme, with 80 participants graduating this past weekend in a ceremony that celebrated their remarkable achievements.

In her remarks, Minister Albert-Poyotte congratulated the graduates on their dedication and success, emphasizing the critical role of digital skills and innovation in Saint Lucia’s economic transformation. “This programme aligns perfectly with the CARDTP’s broader goals of creating a skilled digital workforce, fostering innovation, and driving productivity and competitiveness within our economy,” she noted.
Dr. Alex Ephrem and Mr. Marc Jerome from Monroe University highlighted the value of collaborative partnerships in driving educational opportunities that transform lives and businesses. They encouraged graduates to utilize their newfound skills and knowledge to innovate, scale their businesses, and contribute meaningfully to Saint Lucia’s growing digital economy.
