The Ministry of Infrastructure, Ports Services and Energy was specially invited to participate in the Adaptation Investment Pitch and Matchmaking Event held on 27–28 May. Their presence underscored the Ministry’s pivotal role in advancing Saint Lucia’s climate resilience agenda.

As part of the core team—alongside the Ministry of Physical Development—the Ministry helped shape the Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Sectoral Adaptation Strategies and Action Plans (SASAP). This framework identified climate hazards, resilience strategies, and nearly 20 project concepts to strengthen Saint Lucia’s readiness against climate change.

From these, three priority projects were selected for presentation:

Integrated Climate-Resilient Housing Solutions – retrofitting and rainwater harvesting for vulnerable households.

Strengthening Institutional Capacity and Knowledge Management for climate-resilient infrastructure planning.

Climate-Resilient Infrastructure Upgrades at airport and seaport facilities.

The Ministry’s Spotlight Role at the Event

Formally presented Project #1 (housing solutions) to participants.

Delivered a strategic pitch to attract buy-in and highlight the project’s transformative impact.

Engaged funding agencies in bilateral sessions, providing detailed insights into project components.

Worked to secure financing commitments for implementation.
