INDEPENDENCE ACTIVITIES TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN
Due to various Independence Activities taking place from Saturday, February 21, 2015, to Monday February 23, 2015, in Vieux Fort, the Royal ST Lucia Police Force hereby advises the public on the following Traffic Management Plan, to ensure the safe and smooth movement of pedestrian and vehicular traffic during and after the activities.
On Saturday, February 21, 2015, the activities will be held on the Promenade between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. Traffic will flow as normal along Beanfield Road. Vehicular parking will be available along Beanfield Road, Motor Pool and the western side of the Vieux Fort Police Station. There will be no parking in the immediate vicinity of activities. There will be no entry onto the Promenade from Beanfield and Bruceville.
On Sunday, February 22, 2015, the activities will take place at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Traffic will flow as normal along Beanfield Road. Vehicular parking will be available along Beanfield Road, Motor Pool and the western side of the Vieux Fort Police Station. No vehicular traffic will be allowed on New Dock Road between Louisville and Bruceville junction. There will be No Entry from Clarke Street onto Roots Alley Road, from Clarke Street onto George Shine Drive, from Louisville onto New Dock Road and from Bruceville onto New Dock Road.
There will be No Parking in the immediate vicinity of the activity: No Parking near Hobbies and No Parking along New Dock Road between Louisviile and Bruceville to facilitate the Motor Cross activity.
On Monday, February 23, 2015, the activities will take place on Sandy Beach from 10:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. Sections of the left lane on Beanfield towards Vieux Fort will be closed. Parking will be available on Dames Playing Field. There will be No Entry onto the left lane of the Beanfield Road towards Vieux Fort. No parking signs will be placed along the Beanfield road from the Airport Area towards Vieux Fort.
A wrecker will be at the disposal of the Police and will be utilized as deemed necessary.
The public is further advised that the National Military Parade will be held at the Vigie Playing Field on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 8:30a.m.
