The public is hereby notified that the Community Wi-Fi Access Service at Babonneau is still non-functional. Efforts are ongoing in trying to reinstate the service in the shortest possible time. To this end, representatives of FLOW, the NTRC and the project coordination team met recently at the Babonneau Library to make an assessment of the situation and to determine what has to be done to return the service to normal operation.
It has been determined that a specific piece of hardware at the Babonneau Library has failed. This piece of hardware is costly and it has failed on more than one occasion. It is therefore necessary to carry out a thorough inspection of the electrical system of the building housing the library before this piece of hardware can be replaced. Both FLOW and the NTRC have reasserted their commitment to continue support for this public Internet service.
Patrons are advised that in the meantime, free Internet Wi-Fi access is available at the Babonneau Library and in its immediate vicinity. The coordination team for the Babonneau Community Wi-Fi Access Service apologizes for any inconveniences experienced thus far with the absence of the service.
