The South Eastern University of Sri Lanka celebrated its Founder's Day and 26th anniversary of SEUSL on 25.10.2022.

The inter-library network called SERLIN (South Eastern Regional Library & Information Network) was launched and books were also donated to public libraries with the aim of improving reading, during this occasion.

Prof. Dr. A. Ramees, Vice Chancellor of SEUSL presented a lot of books to Mr. M.I.M. Fais, Secretary, Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha. University Librarian Mr. M.M. Rifaudeen is seen here.

அட்டாளைச்சேனை பொது நூலகத்தில் மிகவும் அர்பணிப்புடன் பணியாற்றிய சகோதரர் M.S. ஹக் அவர்கள் காலமானார்கள். எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவன் அவர்களுக்கு மேலான சுவர்கத்த்தினை வழங்குவானாக. அவரின் பிரிவால் துயருற்றிருக்கும் உறவினர்கள் மற்றும் நண்பர்களுக்கு இறைவன் மன நிம்மதியினை அளிப்பானாக, ஆமீன்.

M.S.Haq, who worked very dedicatedly in the Addalaichenai Public Library passed away. May Almighty God grant him peace and higher place in heaven and give comfort to his relatives and friends who are grieving his loss, Ameen.

The Adalaichenai Public Library had organized many activities to mark the islandwide National Reading Month programme 2021.

As part of this programme, renowned resource person Mr. Manoos Abubakar (Psychological Counsellor) conducted a seminar on "Reading for Life's Goal Setting" to improve literacy among the students of Addalalaichenai, Al-Muneera Girls' High School.

The event was presided over by Librarian Mr. A.L.M.Mushtaq and was graced by the presence of Mr. S.M.M. Haniffa, Hon. Vice-Chairman, Mr. A.C. Niyas, the principal of the school, Mr. Hashim Salih on behalf of ADS, with the participation of a large number of students and parents.

The South Eastern University of Sri Lanka had presented valuable books recently to the Adalaichenai Public Library and the Oluvil Public Library respectively, of the Adalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of this University.

The readers, residents of this area and the staff of the Pradeshiya Sabha express their heartful gratitude to SEUSL for donating of these valuable books.
