ළමුන්ගේ හා කාන්තාවන්ගේ ඡායාරූප අසභ්‍ය ආකාරයෙන් පළකරමින් Facebook Groups/Page පවත්වාගෙන යනු ලැබූ සැකකරුවෙකු පොලිස් ළමා හා කාන්තා අපයෝජන නිවාරණ විමර්ශන කාර්යංශය විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත.

2026.08.27 වන උදෑසන එම කාර්යංශයේ ස්ථානාධිපතිවරිය ඇතුළු නිලධරයන් කණ්ඩායමක් බෙලිඅත්ත ප්‍රදේශයේ සැකකරු පදිංචිව සිටි නිවස වෙත ගොස් අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම සිදුකර තිබේ.

සැකකරු වයස අවුරුදු 21 ක් වූ තරුණයෙකි.

සැකකරුගේ ජංගම දුරකථනය පොලිස් භාරයට ගෙන තිබේ.
ඒ් අනුව ළමා හා කාන්තා අපයෝජන නිවාරණ විමර්ශන කොට්ඨාසය විසින් වැඩිදුර විමර්ශන ආරම්භකර ඇත.

சிறுவர்கள் மற்றும் பெண்களின் ஆபாசமான படங்களை வெளியிடும் முகநூல் (Facebook) குழுக்கள் மற்றும் பக்கங்களை நடத்தி வந்ததாகக் கூறப்படும் சந்தேக நபர் ஒருவர், சிறுவர்கள் மற்றும் பெண்களுக்கு எதிரான துஷ்பிரயோகத் தடுப்புப் பொலிஸ் பிரிவினரால் கைது செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

இப்பிரிவின் பொறுப்பதிகாரி உள்ளிட்ட பொலிஸ் குழுவினர், 2026 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 27 ஆம் திகதி காலை பெலியத்தை பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள சந்தேக நபரின் வீட்டிற்குச் சென்று அவரைக் கைது செய்தனர்.
கைது செய்யப்பட்ட சந்தேக நபர் 21 வயதுடைய இளைஞர் ஆவார்.
அவரது கையடக்கத் தொலைபேசி பொலிஸ் பாதுகாப்பின் கீழ் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதுடன், இது தொடர்பான மேலதிக விசாரணைகளை சிறுவர்கள் மற்றும் பெண்களுக்கு எதிரான துஷ்பிரயோகத் தடுப்புப் பொலிஸ் பிரிவு ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது.

Suspect Arrested for Operating Facebook Groups/Pages Posting Obscene Images of Children and Women

A suspect who allegedly operated Facebook Groups and Pages by posting photographs of children and women in an obscene manner has been arrested by the Police Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women.

A team of officers, including the Officer-in-Charge of the Bureau, visited the suspect’s residence in the Beliatta area on the morning of August 27, 2026, and made the arrest.

The suspect is a 21-year-old youth.

His mobile phone has been taken into police custody, and the Police Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women has commenced further investigations into the incident.

Online Trafficking of Private Photos and Sexual Content of Women and Children Reported Through Social Media

An online trafficking operation involving the buying and selling of private photographs and sexual content of women and children through social media platforms, particularly Facebook, has been reported.

According to information received, groups operating on Facebook and other social media platforms are being used to purchase and sell sexual videos and private photographs of women and children for monetary gain.

In recent days, social media activists have also published a large number of posts and videos raising public awareness about this situation.

Based on preliminary inquiries conducted by the Ministry, information and findings relating to the reported activities have been referred to the Sri Lanka Police Bureau for the Prevention of Abuse of Children and Women and the Computer Crime Investigation Division for further investigation.

During the examination of the relevant groups, it was observed that individuals were using fake accounts to attempt to sell photographs and videos of people close to them. In some instances, attempts were also observed to distribute and sell photographs and videos of female members of their own families.

It has also been identified that many of these groups are being operated from overseas, making this a serious and complex online safety concern.

The Ministry urges parents and guardians to remain vigilant about their children's use of social media and to pay close attention to the individuals with whom their children communicate and interact through these platforms.

Women and children may face the risk of becoming victims of such activities even within the safety of their own homes. Therefore, parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to take appropriate measures to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.

If you observe that a family member has become a victim of such an online operation or is experiencing harmful or addictive behaviour associated with such activities, assistance is available through the 1938 and 1929 toll-free helplines. These services provide access to psychosocial counselling and other legal and support services.

The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs further informs the public that this situation has received its full attention and that necessary urgent interventions are being undertaken to prevent women and children from becoming victims of such online exploitation and to take appropriate action against those involved.

ඒ අනුව අප විසින් සිදු කළ මූලික සොයා බැලීම් හරහා අනාවරණය කරගත් කරුණු සහිතව ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිස් ළමා හා කාන්තා කාර්යාංශය සහ පරිගණක අපරාධ විමර්ශන කොට්ඨාසය වෙත යොමු කර ඇත.

Empowering Digital Safety and Women and Child Protection Workshop for Puttalam District Officials of the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs - in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence

In an era where child protection and the advancement of women’s rights are deeply intertwined with the digital world, a vital capacity-building and cyber security awareness program was successfully conducted on 24th July 2026, at the Puttalam District Secretariat.

This timely initiative was organized under the strategic guidance of the "Clean Sri Lanka" project, utilizing the invaluable resource expertise of the Ministry of Defence. The intensive workshop aimed to equip frontline officers with the essential digital safety mechanisms required to protect women and children in the modern digital age.

The program was graced by the officials from the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs, alongside the officials of District Secretariat of Puttalam.

The technical sessions were expertly conducted by Brigadier K.V.P. Dhammika USP, Director of the Defensive Cyber Command (DCC), along with a specialized team of cyber security experts of the Cyber Command Unit of the Ministry of Defence.
The workshop saw an exceptional response, bringing together active participants dedicated to strengthening institutional capacity. The diverse audience included officers from the Women and Child Development Units across all Divisional Secretariats in the Puttalam District, and officials from the Puttalam District Secretariat itself.

Key Focus Areas Covered

The interactive session seamlessly combined practical knowledge, real-world case simulations, and hands-on exercises covering critical digital dimensions:
• Analyzing evolving cyber threats and their current trends.
• Navigating and avoiding online scams and digital fraud.
• Best practices for safe and responsible social media usage.
• Risk management and threat mitigation strategies.
• Ensuring comprehensive child protection within cyberspace.
• Practical steps to secure personal digital footprints.

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, allowing participants to directly address complex legal and technical challenges with the cyber security experts. Thanks to this successful initiative, our divisional and district officers are now significantly better equipped to face emerging digital risks and proactively protect our communities online.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Government Agent (GA), the Additional Government Agent, and all supportive officials of the Women and Child Unit, with special appreciation to the Women Development Officer of Puttalam District, for their immense coordination and unwavering support in making this program a resounding success.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා මහ බැංකුවේ මූල්‍ය සමාවේශන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් දිවයිනේ දිස්ත්‍රික්ක 25ම ආවරණය වන පරිදි මූල්‍ය සාක්ෂරතාව සහ MSME බැංකුගත කිරීමේ හැකියාව ශක්තිමත් කිරීම සඳහා “Bee Trainer” පුහුණුකරුවන් පුහුණු කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කරයි.
වැඩසටහන ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමේ මූලික පියවරක් ලෙස ජාතික මට්ටමේ මූලික දැනුවත් කිරීමේ හා පූර්ව සාකච්ඡා සැසියක් 2026 අගෝස්තු මස 10 වන දින කාන්තා සහ ළමා කටයුතු අමාත්‍යාංශයේදී පවත්වන ලදී.

මෙම වැඩසටහන යටතේ සෑම දිස්ත්‍රික්කයකින්ම කාන්තා සහ ළමා කටයුතු අමාත්‍යාංශය, ග්‍රාමීය සංවර්ධන, සමාජ ආරක්ෂණ සහ ප්‍රජා සවිබලගැන්වීමේ අමාත්‍යාංශය සහ කර්මාන්ත හා ව්‍යවසායකත්ව සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යාංශය නියෝජනය කරමින් නිලධාරීන් 50 දෙනෙකු පුහුණුකරුවන් ලෙස පුහුණු කෙරේ.
සම්පත්දායකයින් ලෙස කැළණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාල ආචාර්යවරුන් හා මහබැංකු නිලධාරීන් සහභාගී වේ.

වැඩසටහන සඳහා සම්පත් දායකත්වය සපයනු ලැබූයේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා ටෙලිකොම් (SLT) Talent Development Centre හි ඉංජිනේරු සහ මධ්‍යස්ථාන කළමනාකාරිණී තුෂාරි සෙනෙවිරත්න මහත්මිය විසිනි. රාජ්‍ය අංශය තුළ AI තාක්ෂණය ඵලදායී ලෙස භාවිතා කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් ඇය සතු පුළුල් අත්දැකීම් සහ විශේෂඥ දැනුම මෙම පුහුණු වැඩසටහන සඳහා ඵලදායීව යොදවා ගන්නා ලදී.

Zero Cost to Government: Built entirely at no financial cost to the state.

In-House Ingenuity: Developed right here in the Ministry by talented university undergraduates under our internship and development program.
Secure and Independent: Hosted securely on our dedicated internal Ministry server.

This initiative was successfully executed under the visionary guidance of the Secretary to the Ministry and directly supervised by the Director of Planning of the Ministry, under the leadership of Director General’s (Planning).
