📸 Capacity Building Session for FEDOs | Trincomalee

A specialised session was conducted by Ms. Sonya Douglas from the New Zealand High Commission to strengthen the capacity of Foreign Employment Development Officers (FEDOs) on counselling and case handling, engaging 25 FEDOs from Trincomalee — 16 male and 9 female.

The session provided practical guidance on New Zealand migration pathways, including study, work, skilled, and seasonal opportunities, while also raising awareness on fraudulent job offers, migration risks, and unsafe recruitment practices.

🔸 Community Outreach on Safe Migration | Kinniya, Trincomalee

As part of the New Zealand High Commission visit to Trincomalee, a community outreach session was held at the Divisional Secretariat Office, Kinniya, focusing on safe, regular, and informed migration.

The session was conducted by Ms. Sonya Douglas and Mr. Shamir, highlighting New Zealand fake job offer scams, legal pathways to New Zealand, the risks of irregular migration, and the importance of verifying migration opportunities through official channels.
