Founder Dr. Sunil Gamage was born in Ambalantota in the Hambantota district of southern Sri Lanka. He studied higher education in the Open University, Colombo. He went to Japan and received higher education in Tokyo in 1989. He was appointed as a professor at Hokkaido Bunkyo University later. In order to learn Japanese culture and martial arts, he learned Kyokushinkai and Shotokai. He is currently the Asian Region Director of Shotokai and on the 4th stage of black belt. After working with the well-known company Toshiba in Japan in 1997, he engaged in car export business from Japan and established his own venture company, Hiroshi Lanka. His company made rapid progress in a short period of time and became a prominent businessman in the vehicle export industry which is engaged in Japanese vehicles and machinery export to New Zealand, Australia and Philippines (branches). He is the Vice Chairman of Sri Lankan Friendship Organization and has made a significant contribution to Sri Lanka. Known as a top-notch businessman in Japan, he was appointed as the Japanese Consul General in 2008. He is the President of Japan Sri Lanka Friendship and Economic Association. He is the Chairman of Tsukuba Technical Promotions (Pvt) Ltd, Japan Asia Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, Ton Ton Lanka (Pvt) Ltd in joint venture with Albion Cosmetics, Tomorrow Land (Pvt) Ltd and Solar Japan (Pvt) Ltd. Donation of Rs.18.5M worth of three ambulances to the three forces. Organizing of the musical show Ratawenuwen Api with Sri Lankans living in Japan and raising of Rs. 4 Million which was donated to forces in Sri Lanka through the Foreign Ministry. Donation of over 5000 dry foods, liquids and essential commodities in 2005 during the drought season in Hambantota. Donation of wheel-chairs, beds & health equipment’s for three forces, disabled solders, hospitals and civilians all over the country in year 2000. Donation of foods, liquids and other essential goods for more than 10,000 affected civilians in Japan when Tsunami stuck Japan in 2011. Donation of 500 bicycles to the Ministry of Education to be distributed to the school children in rural areas. Donation and distribution of medicines from Ambalanthota to Tangalle areas when the Tsunami stuck Sri Lanka. Donation of medicines and sanitary equipment for soldiers in operational areas in 2007. Helping of nine Sri Lankans families to bring down to Sri Lanka, the bodies of their beloved ones who died under tragic circumstances in Japan with personal expenses. Bringing down of the Minister of Education and High Education and ten more parliamentarians of Japan to Sri Lanka in order to tighten the bonds between Japan and Sri Lanka stronger.
