On the Passing of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway

It is with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway.

His Majesty dedicated his life to the service of Norway and its people, leading with dignity, warmth and an unwavering sense of duty. His reign will be remembered for his humanity, humility and deep commitment to the values that define modern Norway.

As the Honorary Consul General of Norway in Sri Lanka, I extend my deepest condolences to Her Majesty Queen Sonja, the Royal Family, and the people of Norway at this time of national mourning.

Sri Lanka and Norway have shared a long and valued friendship, and today we join the people of Norway in mourning the loss of a much-loved King.

May His Majesty King Harald V rest in peace.

Celebrating 75 Years of Norway–Sri Lanka Diplomatic Relations

A wonderful evening at Shangri-La Colombo celebrating the 75th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Norway and Sri Lanka, hosted by H.E. Ms. May-Elin Stener, Ambassador of Norway to Sri Lanka, and presided over by Mano Sekaram, Honorary Consul General of Norway in Sri Lanka, during the official visit of Hon. Andreas Motzfeldt Kravik, State Secretary of Norway.

We were also honored by the presence of Hon. Harshana Nanayakkara, Minister of Justice and National Integration, as the Guest of Honour, adding further significance to this special occasion.

A proud celebration of friendship, partnership, and continued cooperation between our two nations.
