Congratulations to Sandayuru Ariyasinghe, who will be representing Sri Lanka at the 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026). He was selected for the national team after ranking highly at the National Olympiad in Informatics, which was held earlier this year.

The IOI, widely regarded as the most prestigious computer science competition for school students, is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from the 9th to the 16th of August 2026. The competition brings together some of the best young competitive programmers from 96 countries around the world.

It is a proud moment for Royal College as Omar Hazari has been crowned champion of the English-Speaking Union's International Public Speaking Competition.

The IPSC brings together national champions from 45 countries and is regarded as the world's largest public speaking competition. The competition involved 160,000 competitors this year, while the Grand Final was held at the Royal Institution in Mayfair, London, where Omar emerged as the overall champion.

Congratulations to our outstanding Royalists who have been selected to represent Sri Lanka at the 12th Asian Age Group Aquatic Championships. Representing the Water Polo Team are Lithum Karunasena, who will be captaining the team, Ramiru Aluthge, Abdul Kareem, and Ammar Salim, while Sulaiman Shihar will represent the country in swimming and Ruel Wickramarathne will represent the country in diving while captaining the diving team.

The championships will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from July 14th to 25th, 2026. We wish all six athletes the very best as they proudly represent Royal College and Sri Lanka.
