ආරක්ෂක හිස්වැසුම්ද නොමැතිව අනාරක්ෂිත ලෙස 2026.07.31 වන දින සමන්තුර් පොලිස් වසමේ අල්මර්ජානි විද්යාලය අසල අතුරුමාර්ගවල යතුරුපැදි ධාවනය කළ යතුරුපැදිකරුවන් 05 දෙනෙකු සමන්තුරේ පොලිස් ස්ථානය විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන ඇත.
මෙම සැකකරුවන් එදින සවස උපකාරක පංති සඳහා සහාභාගීවී එම ප්රදේශයේ අතුරු මාර්ගවල පැමිණෙන ළමුන්ට පීඩාවන අයුරින් යතුරුපැදි ධාවනය කරන අයුරු දැක්වෙන වීඩියෝ දර්ශන උපයෝගී කරගනිමින් විමර්ශනය ආරම්භකර ඇති අතර, එමගින් අදාළ යතුරුපැදිවල අනන්යතාවය හදුනාගෙන අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීම සිදුකර තිබේ.
ඒ් අනුව ඔවුන් විසින් එදින එලෙස අනාරක්ෂිත ලෙදස සමන්තුරේ පොලිස් වසමේ පැදවූ යතුරුපැදි 08 ක්ද පසුගිය තෙදින තුළ සොයාගෙන පොලිස් භාරයට ගෙන තිබේ.
අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරුවන් අවුරුදු 19 – 21 අතර වයසේ පසුවන එම ප්රදේශයේම පදිංචිකරුවන් වේ.
සමන්තුරය පොලිස් ස්ථානය විසින් පොලිස් භාරයට ගත් යතුරුපැදි 08 සමඟ සැකකරුවන් පස් දෙනා 2026.08.03 වන අද දින ගරු අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත්කර ඇති අතර හඳුනාගෙන තිබෙන සියළු සැකකාර යතුරුපැදිකරුවන්ට එරෙහිව නීතිය ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා තවදුරටත් විමර්ශනය ක්රියාත්මකයි.

2026.07.31 அன்று சம்மாந்துறை பொலிஸ் பிரிவிற்குட்பட்ட அல் மர்ஜானி கல்லூரி அருகிலுள்ள உள்வீதிகளில், பாதுகாப்புத் தலைக்கவசம் அணியாமல் ஆபத்தான முறையில் மோட்டார் சைக்கிள்களை ஓட்டிய 5 பேரை சம்மாந்துறை பொலிஸார் கைது செய்துள்ளனர்.
குறித்த தினம் மாலை, மேலதிக வகுப்புகளில் கலந்துகொண்ட மாணவர்களுக்கு இடையூறு விளைவிக்கும் வகையில், அப்பகுதியின் உள்வீதிகளில் சிலர் மோட்டார் சைக்கிள்களை ஆபத்தான முறையில் செலுத்திய காட்சிகள் அடங்கிய காணொளிகளின் அடிப்படையில் பொலிஸார் விசாரணைகளை ஆரம்பித்தனர். அதன் மூலம், சம்பந்தப்பட்ட மோட்டார் சைக்கிள்களின் அடையாளங்கள் உறுதிப்படுத்தப்பட்டு, சந்தேகநபர்கள் கைது செய்யப்பட்டனர்.
அத்துடன், அன்றைய தினம் இவ்வாறு ஆபத்தான முறையில் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்ட 8 மோட்டார் சைக்கிள்களும் கடந்த மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டு பொலிஸ் பொறுப்பில் எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
கைது செய்யப்பட்ட சந்தேகநபர்கள் 19 முதல் 21 வயதுக்குட்பட்ட, அதே பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் எனத் தெரியவந்துள்ளது.
பொலிஸ் பொறுப்பில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட 8 மோட்டார் சைக்கிள்களுடன், கைது செய்யப்பட்ட 5 சந்தேகநபர்களும் இன்று (2026.08.03) நீதிமன்றில் முன்னிலைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளனர். மேலும், அடையாளம் காணப்பட்டுள்ள ஏனைய அனைத்து சந்தேகநபர் மோட்டார் சைக்கிள் ஓட்டுநர்களுக்கும் எதிராக சட்ட நடவடிக்கை எடுப்பதற்கான மேலதிக விசாரணைகள் தொடர்ந்தும் முன்னெடுக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன.

Five motorcyclists arrested for reckless riding without helmets in Samanthurai
The Samanthurai Police has arrested five motorcyclists who were riding without safety helmets on roads near Almarjani College within the Samanthurai Police Division on July 31, 2026.
The investigation was launched after police received video footage showing the suspects riding their motorcycles recklessly, endangering children who had attended evening tuition classes and were using the roads in the area. Based on the footage, officers identified the motorcycles involved and apprehended the suspects.
During the past three days, police also traced and seized eight motorcycles that had allegedly been ridden without safety helmets within the Samanthurai Police Division on the day of the incident.
The arrested suspects are residents of the area and are between 19 and 21 years of age.
The five suspects, together with the eight motorcycles taken into police custody, were produced before the Magistrate's Court on August 3, 2026. Further investigations are continuing, and legal action will be taken against all identified motorcyclists involved in the incident.
