කෝටි 20කට ආසන්න PET/CT යන්ත්‍රයක් මහරගම අපේක්ෂා රෝහලට අරගෙන එන්න මූලික වුණු ඒ උතුම් මනුස්සයා ගැන ඔබ අහලා තියෙනවාද? ඔහු තමයි M.S.H. මොහොමඩ් මහතා. ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ පිළිකා රෝගීන්ට අත්‍යවශ්‍යම වුණු මේ පහසුකම රජයේ රෝහලකට ලබා දීමේ දැවැන්ත මෙහෙයුම ආරම්භ වුණේ ඉතාමත් සංවේදී කතාවක් පිටුපසින්.

මොහොමඩ් මහතාගේ ආදරණීය පුතු වුණු හුමයිඩ් පිළිකා රෝගයෙන් (osteosarcoma) පීඩා විඳිද්දී, අපේක්ෂා රෝහලට PET ස්කෑන් යන්ත්‍රයක් ලබා දීමේ හීනයක් ගැන තම පියා සමඟ කතා කරලා තිබුණා. අවාසනාවන්ත විදිහට 2017 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී හුමයිඩ් මේ ලෝකයෙන් සමුගත්තත්, ඒ ආදරණීය තාත්තා තමන්ගේ පුතාගේ අන්තිම හීනය හැබෑ කරන්න තීරණය කළා. ඒ අනුවයි ඔහු මුලික වෙලා Fight Cancer Team සහ Kadijah Foundation එකතු කරගෙන මේ දැවැන්ත අරමුදල් එකතු කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන ආරම්භ කළේ.

මෙහිදී අපි මතක තබාගත යුතුම විශේෂම දෙයක් තියෙනවා. මේ යන්ත්‍රය මොහොමඩ් මහතා තනිවම ඔහුගේ සල්ලිවලින් ගත්තු එකක් නෙමෙයි. තමන්ගේ දරුවා අහිමි වුණු වේදනාව මැදින්, තවත් පිළිකා රෝගියෙකුට උදව්වක් විය යුතුයි කියන අධිෂ්ඨානයෙන් ඔහු මුළු රටම එකතු කළා. මේක ඒ දැවැන්ත අවශ්‍යතාවය හඳුනාගෙන, දහස් ගණනක් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික ජනතාවගේ දහඩිය මහන්සියෙන් එකතු වුණු මනුෂ්‍යත්වයේ පරිත්‍යාගයක්.
