මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ ආපදා කළමනාකරණ ඒකකය මඟින් ලබා දුන් ජීවිතාරක්ෂක කබා, මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ග්‍රාමීය ධීවර සංවිධාන 3ක් වෙත ශ්‍රී ලංකා ජාතික ජලජීවී වගා සංවර්ධන අධිකාරියේ සභාපතිතුමා විසින් ලබාදීම 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 04 වන දින, AQUA EXPO 2026 ප්‍රදර්ශන භූමියේදී සිදු කරන ලදී. මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා මධ්‍යම පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාරතුමා ද සහභාගී විය.

Life jackets provided by the Disaster Management Unit of the Kandy District Secretariat were distributed to three Rural Fisheries Organizations in Kandy District by the Chairman of NAQDA on 4 September 2026, at the AQUA EXPO 2026 exhibition premises. මධ්‍යම පළාත් කෘෂිකර්ම හා මිරිදිය ධීවර අමාත්‍යාංශයේ සහ මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික් ජලජීවී වගා කාර්යාලයේ අනුග්‍රහය යටතේ, මහනුවර දිස්ත්‍රික් විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය ව්‍යවසායකයින්ගේ සංවිධාන ශක්තියෙන් මෙම ප්‍රදර්ශනය සංවිධානය කර ඇත.

AQUA EXPO 2026 – Kandy Aquaculture Entrepreneurship Exhibition was inaugurated on 4 August 2026.

The exhibition was organized with the sponsorship and support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Freshwater Fisheries of the Central Province and the Kandy District Aquaculture Office, with the strong participation and organizational efforts of ornamental fish entrepreneurs in Kandy District.

2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 03 වන දින, කෑගල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ රුවන්වැල්ල ප්‍රදේශයේ විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය නිෂ්පාදකයෙකු වන වී. ටී. ජයසේකර මහතා වෙත ප්ලේටි මත්ස්‍ය පැටවුන් 15,000ක් සහ ස්වෝර්ඩ්ටේල් මත්ස්‍ය පැටවුන් 15,000ක් ගිනිගත්හේන විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය අභිජනන මධ්‍යස්ථාන මඟින් නිකුත් කරන ලදී.

On 3 September 2026, 15,000 Platy and 15,000 Swordtail ornamental fish were issued from Ginigathhena Ornamental Fish Breeding Centre to Mr. V. T. Jayasekara, an ornamental fish producer in Ruwanwella, Kegalle District.

ත්‍රිකුණාමලය දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ මුතූර් ප්‍රදේශයේ ඉලක්කන්තෙයි වැවෙහි මත්ස්‍ය කූඩු වෙත මිරිගල් මත්ස්‍ය ඇසිත්තන් 80,000ක් 2026 අගෝස්තු 25 වන දින තැන්පත් කරන ලදී.

World Vision Lanka – Empower ව්‍යාපෘතියේ සහාය ඇතිව ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ලද මෙම මත්ස්‍ය පැටවුන් තැන්පත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන සඳහා අවශ්‍ය මත්ස්‍ය පැටවුන් ඉඟිනියාගල ජලජීවී වගා සංවර්ධන මධ්‍යස්ථානය මඟින් සපයන ලදී.

80,000 Mrigal fish fry were stocked into fish cages in Illakanthai Tank in Muthur, Trincomalee District, on 25 August 2026.

This stocking programme was carried out with the support of World Vision Lanka – Empower Project and the fish fry were supplied by the Inginiyagala Aquaculture Development Centre.

මහවැලි අධිකාරියේ කෘෂිකර්ම හා පශු සම්පත් අංශයේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ සහ සහකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ, මහවැලි බී කලාපයේ ධීවර කටයුතු භාර සියලුම නිලධාරීන්, සහකාර අධ්‍යක්ෂ (ව්‍යාප්ති – කලාප 4) ඇතුළු ජලජීවී වගා ව්‍යාප්ති නිලධාරීන් මෙම සාකච්ඡාව සඳහා සහභාගී වූහ.

මීට අමතරව, උතුරු මැද පළාත් ධීවර අංශයේ නිලධාරීන් සහ පෞද්ගලික පොකුණු හිමියන් ද මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්වූහ.

A discussion on the issues currently affecting the fisheries sector in Mahaweli B Zone, ongoing activities, and future plans was held on 3 September 2026 at the Mahaweli Office, Welikanda.

The discussion was attended by the Director and Assistant Director of the Agriculture and Livestock Division of the Mahaweli Authority, all officers responsible for fisheries activities in Mahaweli B Zone, and the Assistant Director (Extension – Zone 4) together with Aquaculture Extension Officers.

Officers from the North Central Provincial Fisheries Division and private pond owners also participated in the discussion.

මෙම රක්ෂණ යෝජනා ක්‍රමය හඳුන්වාදීම මඟින් සේවක සුබසාධනය තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කරමින්, පුළුල් රක්ෂණ ආවරණයක් හරහා සේවකයින්ගේ සමාජීය හා මූල්‍ය සුරක්ෂිතතාව වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම සඳහා වැදගත් පියවරක් සනිටුහන් කරයි.

An agreement was signed with the National Insurance Trust Fund (NITF) to provide the Agrahara Insurance Scheme for NAQDA employees.

The introduction of this insurance scheme marks an important step towards strengthening employee welfare and ensuring greater social and financial security through access to comprehensive insurance coverage.

දෙවහුව ජලාශයේ ජල මට්ටම සීග්‍රයෙන් පහළ යමින් පවතින බැවින්, ඉදිරි කාලය සඳහා ගත යුතු ක්‍රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීම සඳහා විශේෂ මහා සභා රැස්වීමක් පැවැත්විණි.

මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා දිස්ත්‍රික් ජලජීවී වගා ව්‍යාප්ති නිලධාරී සහ ජලජීවී වගා ව්‍යාප්ති නිලධාරී සහභාගී වූ අතර, ජලාශයේ පවතින තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව පහත ක්‍රියාමාර්ග සඳහා එකඟතාවකට එළඹිණි.

🔹 එක් ධීවරයෙකු සඳහා භාවිත කළ හැකි දැල් කට්ටල සංඛ්‍යාව හයේ සිට හතර දක්වා අඩු කිරීම.
🔹 ජලාශයේ ආරක්ෂක කටයුතු පැය 24 පුරා අඛණ්ඩව පවත්වාගෙන යාම.
🔹 ජලාශයේ ජල මට්ටම තවදුරටත් පහළ යා හැකි බැවින්, සෑම සති දෙකකට වරක් කාරක සභාව රැස්වී ඉදිරි ක්‍රියාමාර්ග පිළිබඳව සාකච්ඡා කිරීමට තීරණය කිරීම.

මෙම තීරණ මඟින් ජලාශයේ පවතින ජල තත්ත්වය හමුවේ ජලාශයේ ධීවර කටයුතු වඩාත් වගකීමෙන් හා තිරසරව පවත්වාගෙන යාම අපේක්ෂා කෙරේ.

A Special General Meeting was held at Dewahuwa Reservoir to discuss appropriate measures for the upcoming period, as the water level of the reservoir has been declining rapidly.

The meeting was attended by the District Aquaculture Extension Officer and the Aquaculture Extension Officer were participated and following discussions on the current situation, the fishing community agreed on the following measures:

🔹 Reduce the number of fishing net sets per fisherman from six to four.
🔹 Maintain continuous security and surveillance of the reservoir 24 hours a daily
🔹 As the reservoir water level continues to decline, the Management Committee will meet once every two weeks to review the situation and discuss further actions.

In light of the reservoir's current water levels, these decisions aim to ensure that fishing activities are conducted with greater responsibility and sustainability.

පුත්තලම දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය කර්මාන්තයේ උන්නතිය හා සංවර්ධනය වෙනුවෙන්, මීට පෙර පිහිටුවා තිබූ පුත්තලම දිස්ත්‍රික් විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය සංගමය නැවත සක්‍රීය කිරීමේ වැඩසටහනක් බත්තුලුඔය දිස්ත්‍රික් ජලජීවී වගා ව්‍යාප්ති කාර්යාලයේදී සාර්ථකව පවත්වන ලදී.

දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ විවිධ ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාශ නියෝජනය කරමින් කුඩා හා මධ්‍ය පරිමාණ විසිතුරු මත්ස්‍ය ව්‍යවසායකයින් මෙම අවස්ථාව සඳහා එක්වූහ.

As part of ongoing efforts to promote the growth and development of the ornamental fish industry in Puttalam District, a programme was successfully held at the Baththulu Oya District Aquaculture Extension Office to reactivate the previously established Puttalam District Ornamental Fish Association.

Small- and medium-scale ornamental fish entrepreneurs from various Divisional Secretariat Divisions across the district were participated for this programme.
