CEB Distribution Division 1 Ceylon Electricity Board is the licensee which is responsible for electricity distribution of Colombo City Colombo City is the capital of Sri Lanka.

The peak power demand of CEB Colombo city is around 290 MW while its annual energy consumption is around 1300 GWh. Being only geography of 37 sq. km and having a population of over a million people, electricity distribution network in the city is almost fully underground. The 170,000 customer base, 10% of which is heavy supplies over 112 kVA, accounts for 15% of the country's electricity sales and

20% of the revenue earnings of CEB. Colombo City thus is essentially the flagship of CEB distribution sector. The annual revenue is Sri Lankan Rupees 33 billion.
