SPONSOR A DREAM – PHASE 1

Supporting Education, Empowering Futures

Education has the power to transform lives. With this belief, YMMA Kandy District has initiated Sponsor a Dream – Phase 1, an educational financial assistance programme aimed at supporting the educational needs of children of divorced or widowed mothers.

As part of Phase 1, financial assistance was provided to deserving children to help ease their educational expenses and support them in continuing their journey towards a brighter future.

The programme was supported by the participation of National General Secretary Ihthishan M. Hussaindeen, Vice President MNM Nifras, Past National President Saheed M. Rismy, and President of YMMA Kandy Branch, Ghazzali Saheed, and District Director M. Shabry Azard.

This initiative reflects the spirit of faith, unity and service, demonstrating how collective efforts can make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in our community.

Our sincere appreciation goes to everyone who contributed, coordinated and supported this initiative. Every contribution can become a stepping stone towards a child's dream. 💚

🌿 Sponsor a Dream. Support Education. Empower a Future.

YMMA Kandy District Meeting – 14th August

The Kandy District Meeting of the Young Men’s Muslim Association (YMMA) was held on 14th August, bringing together representatives and members from across the district for a productive and meaningful discussion.

The meeting focused on strengthening the district network, addressing key community matters, and planning initiatives to further enhance our service to the community.

A special moment of the gathering was the honouring of postgraduate students from Pakistan, who had joined us in volunteering activities while also working on a documentary exploring Sri Lanka, its people, heritage and culture. We were pleased to appreciate their contribution and their efforts to promote greater understanding and friendship between our communities.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who participated and contributed to making the meeting a success.

Together in unity, service and purpose — Insha Allah, we continue to serve our communities and build stronger bonds.

ACYMMAC | YMMA Matale | Towards 80years of Excellence

From representing the YMMA Gampola Branch, serving as District Director, and now continuing as National General Secretary, I have had many opportunities to visit the Matale branch, engage with the team, and advise them towards their development.

This programme was truly a milestone event for the branch. Some impressive highlights I noted:

- Enrolled more than 15 young members and motivated them through mementos.

- Shared the history and legacy of the branch through an excellent presentation and documentation.

- Connected 4 experienced professionals from various fields as patrons and advisors.

- Honored the seniors who worked hard for the branch, especially remembering the late secretary by honoring his son.

- Organized the programme on a grand level while maintaining the prestige of YMMA.

- Achieved 100% participation despite the heavy rainfall and late-night hours, with everyone actively engaged until the end.

A memorable and historic programme with a bright future ahead for Matale YMMA. Wishing them continued success and greater achievements ahead, In Sha Allah.
