Caritas Chilaw joyfully celebrated our New Year festival with fun games, cheerful moments, and a wonderful gathering of our community. Winners were awarded prizes, adding excitement to the celebration. It was a small but truly meaningful and memorable event filled with unity and happiness. We are grateful for everyone who participated and made this festival a success. Looking forward to celebrating even bigger and better in the coming years!

Caritas Chilaw Youth Group, under the Peace Project, celebrated the New Year with joy, teamwork, and unity. Through fun games, they shared happiness, built peace, and learned the value of working together. A truly positive and inspiring celebration!

🕯️ Holy Saturday 🕯️
"In silence we await..."

Something strange is happening—
There is a great silence on earth today,
a great silence and stillness.
The whole earth keeps silence
because the Lord is asleep.

The earth trembled and is still
because God has fallen asleep in the flesh,
And He has raised up all who have slept
ever since the world began.

God has died in the flesh,
And hell trembles with fear.

As we wait in solemn reflection,
May we prepare our hearts
for the hope that dawns with the Resurrection.

On this sacred day of Good Friday, we remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
He bore the cross, endured the pain, and gave His life for the salvation of humanity. ✝️

On this sacred Maundy Thursday, we remember the humility and love of Jesus as He washed the feet of His disciples and shared His last meal with them.

“Love one another as I have loved you.” – John 13:34

Our women’s coordinator organized a workshop to repair electrical items for families affected by the recent cyclone. Many of these items were essential for their daily lives and livelihoods.

We stand with our community, helping them rebuild, recover, and keep their dreams alive. 💙
