Sarvodaya Suwasetha Sewa Society Sarvodaya Suwasetha promotes and protects the rights of children, adolescents, youth and elders. One is four years old. The mother had died at childbirth.

A father walks into the office of Sarvodaya, with two severely malnourished children whom he was unable to look after. The other a ten-month old baby with polio. The father wants to hand over the children. The children are accepted. A new childcare programme begins at Sarvodaya. Sarvodaya Suwasetha is born. That was in 1975. , Shanthi works at Sarvodaya as a clerk and is happily married to a Sarvodaya Project Manager. The other girl, Malkanthi is unmarried and is an Assistant Matron in our transit home for infants in Lunawa, Moratuwa. Sarvodaya Suwasetha maintains 8 Child development Centres, 1 special Child Development Centre for teenage mothers, 5 pre-schools, 4 elders homes including 1 home for women with disabilities/special needs.
