ඔබට කොලොන්නාව රෝටරි සමාජයේ සුබ පැතුම්! 🙌

She once needed clearer vision to see the world. Today, she is ready to show the world what she can do.

As one of 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗽 𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 (SELB) as beneficiary steps into her Advanced Level Examination, the entire Rotary District 3220 stands behind her with one wishing message:

අපගේ SELB (තියුණු දෑසින් පැහැදිලි දැනුමක්) ව්‍යාපෘතියේ ප්‍රතිලාභියෙකු වන ඇය, සිය උසස් පෙළ විභාගයට මුහුණ දීමට පියවර තබන මේ මොහොතේ, රෝටරි ජාත්‍යන්තර දිස්ත්‍රික්ක 3220 හි සමස්ත රෝටරි පවුලම ඇය වෙනුවෙන් එක්ව සිටින්නේ එකම සුබපැතුම් පණිවිඩයක් සමඟිනි.

දිදුලන්න. අපි ඔබ ගැන විශ්වාස කරමු.

Her talent was always there. A little clarity simply helped it find its way forward.

Her journey reminds us that when we change one life, we don’t just change today, we create possibilities for tomorrow. This is one of many lives that we supported in this initiative.

ඇය තුළ දක්ෂතාවයන් බොහොමයකි. වඩාත් පැහැදිලි දැක්මක් ඇයට තම හැකියාවන් නිසි මඟට ගෙන යාමට අවශ්‍ය වූ පුංචි අත්වැලක් පමණක් විය. ඇගේ සාර්ථකත්වය තවත් බොහෝ ජයග්‍රහණවල සුන්දර ආරම්භයක් වේවා!

Serving with compassion on the sacred Esala Poya Day.

In the true spirit of Service Above Self, the Rotary Club of Kolonnawa was privileged to organize an Esala Poya Dansala, sharing freshly prepared seeni sambal buns and warm ginger plain tea with devotees and the community.

This meaningful initiative was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Welcome Tea and the National Children's Education Foundation (NCEF), with the enthusiastic support of the Rotaract Club of KIU and the Interact Club of Horizon College Together, we transformed a simple act of giving into a heartfelt expression of kindness, unity, and service.

Our sincere gratitude to the all club members of Kolonnawa family, Rotaractors, Interactors, staff of Welcome Tea, every sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who helped make this day a memorable one.

Every shared meal, every warm cup of tea, and every smile reflected the true essence of Rotary bringing hope, compassion, and goodwill to our community.

Investing in Dreams, Empowering Futures

The very first service project of the Rotary Club of Kolonnawa for the new Rotary year, under the leadership of our 32nd President, Rtn. Danushka Walpola, was a meaningful investment in the future of our community through education.

At our first club meeting, we were delighted to award two educational scholarships to two exceptionally talented and deserving students who are preparing for their GCE Advanced Level examinations, one from Yasodara Vidyalaya, Colombo, and the other from Rahula Maha Vidyalaya, Angoda.

For over 30 years, the Rotary Club of Kolonnawa has proudly continued this flagship initiative, supporting deserving students in their pursuit of higher education.

This enduring commitment reflects our belief that education is one of the most powerful tools to create lasting change.

Through Rotary's Area of Focus on Basic Education and Literacy, we pledge to stand by these students throughout their Advanced Level journey, helping them unlock their full potential and become future leaders who will make a positive impact on society.

Congratulations to our scholarship recipients. May this support inspire you to dream bigger, work harder, and achieve your aspirations. We are proud to be part of your journey.

A New Rotary Year Begins with Blessings, Fellowship & Purpose

On 1st July 2026, the Rotary Club of Kolonnawa proudly marked our first club meeting of the Rotary Year 2026–27 at the RC Kolonnawa Office, starting in a new chapter under the leadership of our 32nd President Rtn. Danushka Walpola.

As tradition guides us, we commenced the new Rotary year by seeking the blessings of the Maha Sangha, surrounded by our members and their families in a gathering filled with unity, gratitude, and renewed commitment to service. The evening was further enriched as we warmly welcomed our newest members into the Rotary family.

A special highlight of the occasion was the official collaring of President Rtn. Danushka Walpola by Immediate Past President Rtn. Sandali Geethma, symbolizing the proud continuation of leadership and service.

We were deeply honored by the presence of our Charter President, PDG Dr. Ven. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thero, whose blessings continue to inspire our journey.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our Assistant Governor, PP Rtn. Nimesh Sashintha of the Rotary Club of Dompe, and District 3220 Membership Chair, Rtn. Gamini Madanayake, for gracing the occasion with their presence and encouragement.

Once again we congratulate the President Danushka Walpola and the Board of members for a successful year ahead!

Together, we begin this Rotary year with one vision, one purpose, and our continued commitment to Service Above Self.
