Spotting leopards, elephants, sambar deer, jackals, porcupines, pangolins, mongooses, civets andbarking deer are quite common in Yala National Park. Safari drive in the morning or evening which will last about 3 hours, you are guaranteed to see spotted deer, wild boars, wild buffaloes, crocodiles, monkeys, Toque macaques, Squirrels and many species of birds including peacocks, endemic jungle fowls, water birds, bee eaters. But getting a peak at sloth bears, fishing cats, jungle cats & rusty spotted cats are rare.
