The National Institute of Social Development (NISD) is a premier institution in Social Work education in Sri Lanka. It has been recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a degree awarding Institute, under the section 25 of the Universities Act No.16 of 1978. This institute is a higher educational institution producing professional Social Workers and Counsellors to Serve the Social Welfare System to promote Social Development.

🦟 Dengue Prevention Programme 🌿

As part of "Clean NISD – Integrity Campus Day", organized in parallel with National Integrity Week – 2026 under the national initiative "A Culture of Integrity – Clean Sri Lanka," the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) successfully conducted its Dengue Prevention Programme.

This initiative brought together staff, students, and public health officials to raise awareness, eliminate mosquito breeding sites, and promote a cleaner, healthier, and more responsible campus environment.

Every small action contributes to a greater impact. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to environmental responsibility, public health, and a culture of integrity.

As part of the National Integrity Week – 2026 and the national initiative "A Culture of Integrity – Clean Sri Lanka," the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) proudly organized a Dengue Prevention Programme to promote environmental responsibility, public health, and community well-being.

The Integrity Committee of the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) successfully conducted the Awareness Programme on "Integrity, Good Governance, and a Culture of Ethical Conduct" on 28 July 2026 at the NISD Conference Hall.

Organized in line with the National Initiative "A Culture of Integrity – Clean Sri Lanka," the programme aimed to strengthen the values of integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct within the public service.

The programme was honoured by the inspiring keynote address delivered by Prof. Prathibha Mahanama, whose thought-provoking presentation highlighted the importance of cultivating ethical leadership, responsible governance, and integrity as essential foundations for sustainable national development.

The event was chaired by Senior Professor Premakumara De Silva, Director General of the National Institute of Social Development, and was attended by academic and non-academic staff members who actively engaged in meaningful discussions on promoting ethical excellence within the institution.

The Integrity Committee sincerely appreciates the participation, enthusiasm, and commitment of all attendees, whose contributions made the programme both successful and impactful.

Together, let us continue to uphold integrity, embrace good governance, and foster a culture of ethical conduct in our workplace and beyond.

Today, the National Institute of Social Development (NISD) is conducting an awareness programme on "Integrity, Good Governance, and a Culture of Ethical Conduct", organized by the Integrity Committee in line with the national initiative "A Culture of Integrity – Clean Sri Lanka."

The programme aims to strengthen integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct within the public service while fostering a culture of professionalism and responsible governance.
