🌿 Warmest Wishes to the Newly Appointed Director of the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka 🌿
The Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka (TRI) warmly welcomes Dr. Mahasen A. B. Ranatunga as the newly appointed Director of the Institute.
With more than two decades of dedicated service to TRI, Dr. Ranatunga brings with him a wealth of experience in tea science, plant breeding, agricultural biotechnology, genetic improvement, climate resilience, research management and technology transfer. His professional journey at TRI has included a range of scientific and leadership positions, culminating in his appointment as Director.
Dr. Ranatunga's academic and scientific achievements, extensive research experience, strong publication record, involvement in national and international research programmes, and contribution to the wider tea and plantation sectors reflect his longstanding commitment to the advancement of Sri Lankan tea research.
At a time when the tea industry is evolving in response to climate change, emerging technologies, changing market requirements and the need for sustainable production, his experience and leadership will be valuable in further strengthening the research and innovation agenda of TRI.
The Chairman of the Tea Research Board, Prof. W. A. J. M. De Costa, and the entire staff of the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka extend their warmest congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Mahasen A. B. Ranatunga on his appointment.
