Donation of books and stationery.
Donation of 50 Library Books to the Thalecemia unit of Teaching Hospital, Kurunegala along with medical equipment. A Total contribution of LKR20,000/- was contributed by Sanchala Arangalage, Isuru Jayathunga and Nimalee Jayasooriya towards the project to purchase medical equipment (Canola). The interact club of Vishaka Vidyalaya with Ananda Vidyalaya successfully completed the project with the provided funds. pictures attached.

Purchased 20 paires of shoes for Sadagala Special School in Kurunegala to day from Bata. The shoes will be delivered to the school next week. Will share the pictures once handed over.This projet was made possible through the generous contribution of Isuru Jayatunge, Bimsara Seneviratne and Nimalee Jayasooriya

Finally the community library was opened. Initial plans were changed several times due to financial and labour constraints. However, after facing many hurdles and many to overcome in the future, I was able to open the Library on 15th Saturday 2018. The Grama Seveke Niladari (Government Representative) of the area was present for the opening. This is a free Community Library located at Wehera Oya Estate. Since I could not complete the two rooms I was building for the library a room in the Kurunegala residence was converted temporarily. Future plans are to have free language, computer and after school programmes. Thank you University Of California and Barnes and Noble for its support given in purchasing books for the library.
