Kannangara’s greatest contribution to education was his scheme of free education and Central Schools , Wadduwa Central College is one of the fiftyfour Central schools established under his educational reforms. It is situated in a tranquil surrounding in the suburbs of Wadduwa in Kalutara District in the western province.The first principal of this school was Prof. In 1945 this school was started a

s a secondary school but in 1994 primary section was established as the appreciable additions. Fernando was the principal then.After establishing the Primary Section Wadduwa Central College now consists of three sections. Primary Section, Junior Secondary and the Upper school. Advanced Level grades conduct classes in Bio Science , Physical Science ,Technology Commerce and Arts. As a government school Wadduwa Central College follows government educational policy.
