Updates!!!

Members of the Revolutionary Students Advocate Party For Justice (SAPJ) were present in the students and faculty meeting hosted by the Dr. Reeves, acting president of the Grand Bassa University. In that meeting, Chairman Sigah reaffirms the students desire to go back to school and comrade Abdull Sheriff spoke for the students from the nursing department. The University president made a commandment that classes will begin October last week or the first week in November. After the meeting, Chairman Sigah engaged the University president in person and told him about some of the activities fees that aren't necessary to be paid for this semester. After that day, Chairman Sigah again did a written communication and sent it through Gmail to the IP Dr. Reeves and the acting coordinator Dr. Hill about the activities fees. In the communication, Chairman Sigah wrote that the paying of internet, library and medical fees are unnecessary to be paid this semester because students won't benefit from those fees. Students should benefit from every fee that will be paid by them.

The Revolutionary Students Advocate Party For Justice will not stop advocating for the masses interest.

Press Release

The Students Advocate Party for Justice (SAPJ) backs the Grand Bassa
University Administration request to temporarily use the Fairground
community TOWN HALL as office space.

The Revolutionary Students Advocate Party for Justice (SAPJ) fully
supports the University Administration request to its partner
ArcelorMittal Liberia and the local government to grant temporary use of
the Fairground community Town Hall as office space until the damaged
bridge linking the main campus is completed.
The bridge collapse has severely disrupted academic and administrative
operations at GBU. Staff, faculty and students are currently unable to
access campus facilities safely and efficiently, which threaten the
continuity of learning for the semester and the timely delivery of
administrative services.
The Fairground community Town Hall, currently under construction by
ArcelorMittal Liberia presents a viable and immediate solution.

The Students Advocate Party for Justice (SAPJ) called on the peaceful
citizens of the Fairground Community to also grant the University
access for temporal uses of the Community Town Hall for educational
purposes. Thousands of students are hopelessly seated home presently
because the government has failed to live up to its responsibility.

Our primary concern is to go back to school. Education must not pause
because of infrastructure challenges. Using the Town Hall will allow our
administration to serve and our students to graduate on time.

We commend ArcelorMittal for its development work in Bassa and call on
them to partner with us in this critical moment.

The Students Advocate Party for Justice remains committed to
advocating for Justice, accountability, quality education, and the overall
welfare of the students at Grand Bassa University.

GBU students, check your grade sheet on the E-portal and give us feedback. The administration has made efforts in updating the system from our request in the release. Tell us if yours is still malfunctioning. We will fix GBU together through constructive advocacy.
