The founding generation of Liberia were not CDCians or UPists they were free settlers & inhabitants who were in search for freedom Liberty, fraternity, justice, human rights and sovereignty.
Well, the constitution of Liberia adapted in 1848 is a replica of the USA constitution which was written in the Harvert Law School and like any other organic instrument, the power is ingrained in π "we the people..."and every legal or lawful rights of the people is ensure in various articles including Article11.
The accountability of the STATE to it's people must go beyond theatrical consideration and mere citizenship. The PEOPLE MUST benefits from the resources of the land irrespective of political affiliation, creed, religion, tribe, region and other associations. Citizenship must be tangible in the provision of health π care delivery, quality education, better standards of living, clean environment and other services must be treated as basic human RIGHTs issues. Just as the right to vote.
Citizenship must go beyond inclusivity of constitutional provisions to practicalization of the literature π thereof. Citizenship must go beyond the National Anthem & the symbolic representation of the flag to implementing every word written βοΈ.
The duties and responsibilities of the STATE and any credible government is to mobilize resources through good governance for the economic and social wellbeing of its people π and the political governance of the country. Unlike, the system of bad governments have created a class system of inequality (rich & poor, the have and the have not) to the extent, Rural Liberia π±π· don't feel a part of Liberia anymore.
This nation belongs to everyone Liberian irrespective of locations and as such, the government services must reach to the forgotten corners of the land and impact the lives of the people NOT just the insurance of geopolitical border security but also, the people must feel the impact of the National Budget appropriation.
The people are not adequately represented by their representatives and senators because, they are only representing themselves.
