Congratulations to our President Emeritus Moshed A Cheapo

We are excited to announce Moshed Archie Cheapo as a member of PYPP Class XIII.
Moshed is a 2024 graduate of Stella Maris Polytechnic University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Technology, focusing specifically on Architectural Design principles.

During his final year, he demonstrated strong leadership skills and was elected President of the Student Representative Council of the Stella Maris Polytechnic University. As President, he advocated for student interests and fostered a sense of community among the student body. He mobilized resources and created an outdoor sitting space with a canopy for students to await classes while on campus.

Moshed was actively involved in the Liberia Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (LEITI) speaker series, which aimed to raise awareness about transparency and accountability in Liberia’s resource management. He also participated in the prestigious USAID Development Matters Program held at the American Embassy near Monrovia, allowing him to engage with key development issues and network with professionals in the field.

Beyond his academic and extracurricular commitments, Moshed serves as the Program Officer and Organizing Head for the Baptist Seminary Community Youth. In this role, he works tirelessly to empower young individuals through various community programs and initiatives, fostering leadership skills and promoting personal development. His dedication to service reflects his commitment to making a positive impact in his community and beyond.

Moshed aspires to become a Project Manager. He will serve his two-year fellowship at the Ministry of Public Works.

Stella Maris Polytechnic University Student Representative Council (SRC) Appoints Elections Guidelines and Constitution Review Committee Ahead of Upcoming General Elections

Monrovia, Liberia – The Students Representative Council (SRC) of Stella Maris Polytechnic University is pleased to announce the official appointment of the Election Guidelines and Constitution Review Committee in preparation for the upcoming General Elections of the University.

This strategic committee has been given full authority and responsibility to:

1. Review and update the SRC Constitution, reflecting current realities and best practices in student leadership and governance.

2. Draft and publish comprehensive Elections Guidelines to ensure a free, fair, transparent, and democratic electoral process.

3. Engage relevant stakeholders—including the student body, faculty representatives, and university administration—to solicit input and foster inclusivity in the decision-making process.

The SRC places great confidence in the committee's integrity, expertise, and commitment to student democracy and institutional development. This appointment represents a major step toward strengthening student leadership structures and upholding the values of accountability, representation, and participation within the Stella Maris Polytechnic University.
