The Bureau of Propaganda, Information, Research and Guidance of the Student Unification Party Commemorates the 63rd Anniversary of African Liberation Day
Comrades and friends, sons and daughters of the lineage of black African slaves, men and women in the struggle of One Africa, exploited mines and plantation workers, teachers, students, our market women, struggling taxi drivers and pen-pen riders, members of the fourth estate and all African compatriots, the revolutionary Vanguard Student Unification Party brings you warm African solidarity-massescratic greetings.
The Vanguard Student Unification Party (SUP), its militants and revolutionary custodians of the progressive struggle of the oppressed masses, join conscious Africans and progressive forces across the continent and the diaspora in commemorating African Liberation Day — a historic day symbolizing the uncompromising struggle of African people against colonialism, imperialism, exploitation, and every manifestation of oppression.
Today, we honor the sacrifices of the gallant sons and daughters of Africa who dedicated their lives to the total emancipation of the African continent from foreign domination and internal betrayal, whether it was the struggle against the rubber slavery in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the concentration camps and demographic erasure in Libya, the Herero and Nama genocide in Namibia or the Apartheid struggle in South Africa, all these plots amongst others were perniciously calculated attempts to undermine and annihilate the black continent of Africa. We pay glowing tribute to revolutionary icons such as Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba, Thomas Sankara, Amílcar Cabral, Julius Nyerere, Ahmed Ben Bella and countless unnamed freedom fighters whose resistance laid the foundation for Africa’s political independence and continuing revolutionary aspirations.
African Liberation Day is not a ceremonial show; it is a moment of reflection and revolutionary recommitment. Though the chains of direct colonialism were broken, Africa continues to suffer under the yoke of neo-colonial exploitation, economic dependency, corrupt leadership, foreign manipulation, bad governance, mass unemployment, educational decay, and the systematic impoverishment of the masses.
In Liberia and across the continent, the promises of independence remain largely unfulfilled for ordinary people. The children of workers and peasants continue to endure unbearable hardships while a tiny privileged elite accumulates wealth and power at the expense of the struggling masses. Public education is under attack, healthcare remains inaccessible, youth unemployment is alarming, and democratic spaces continue to shrink under reactionary tendencies.
SUP maintains that genuine African liberation cannot be achieved through empty rhetoric or symbolic observances alone. True liberation demands a radical transformation of the social, political, and economic structures that continue to sustain inequality and exploitation. The emancipation of Africa must be driven by conscious and organized masses committed to social justice, scientific socialism, Pan-African solidarity, and people-centered development.
As a revolutionary student epicenter of intelligentsia with an unbroken tradition of resistance, SUP reaffirms its commitment to defending the interests of students, workers, and the oppressed masses. We shall continue to stand firmly against exploitation, corruption, state repression, and every anti-people policy that undermines the dignity and future of our people.
On this historic day, we call upon African youths, students, intellectuals, workers, and progressive organizations to rekindle the spirit of militant Pan-Africanism and revolutionary consciousness. The future of Africa cannot be entrusted to complacent leadership, perpetuating power bigots and imperialist puppets. It rests in the hands of organized, conscious, and resistant masses determined to complete the unfinished project of African liberation.
This day must inspire us to intensify the struggle for an Africa of holistic freedom that is economically independent, politically sovereign, socially just, and genuinely liberated.
Long live African solidarity!
Long live militant Pan-Africanism!
Long live the revolutionary struggle of the oppressed masses!
Long live the unhindered supremacy of the Vanguard Student Unification Party!
