Liberia Diaspora Engagement Program

Liberia Diaspora Engagement Program The DAU will ensure broad stakeholder involvement, coordinate, align and harmonize all donor activities for capacity development through Diaspora engagement.

The President of Liberia and Cabinet endorsed the incubation of the Diaspora Affairs Unit (DAU) within the Ministry of State, under the auspices of the Ministry of State Without Portfolio in 2010. This program was on schedule to have begun as late as 2013, but suffered delays due to various factors, exacerbated by the Ebola epidemic in 2014. Thus, with renewed focus, the Government of Liberia (GOL

), with funding by from the World Bank, has formally launched the Liberia Diaspora Engagement Program (LDEP) to effectuate this program.
