The Liberia National Police was established in June 1955 in accordance with Section 180 of chapter 13, sub chapter “A” of the Executive Law in the Liberian code of law volume; 11 of 1955 within the Ministry of Justice and reversed under section 22.70 of the same Executive Law
This state that there shall be established in the Ministry of Justice a National Police Force which will headed by an Ins
pector General, Who shall be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Liberian National Legislature. The Liberia National Police is the Primary Law Enforcement Agency in Liberia and it is mandated to Provide Service Protection, Detecting Crimes, Apprehending Criminal Offenders, Preventing Crimes and Disorder, Maintaining Law and Order as well as; Protecting Lives, Properties and ensuring Civil Liberties are guaranteed by law.
