Subject: 3 Key Points from the Unity Party Montserrado Youth Congress Leadership
The Unity Party Montserrado Youth Congress Leadership wishes to address the public and our supporters with three clear points reflecting our ongoing commitment to accountability, development, and organized youth engagement in Montserrado County.
1) Appreciation for Government Procurement of the Yellow Machines
- We extend our sincere appreciation to the Government of Liberia for the procurement and deployment of yellow machines (earth-moving equipment) intended to enhance public works and infrastructure projects across Montserrado County.
- We acknowledge the potential for improved roadworks, sanitation, and community infrastructure, and we commend the administration for prioritizing essential tools that support economic activity and local livelihoods.
- We urge transparent oversight in the utilization of these assets to ensure value for money, accountability to taxpayers, and sustained community benefits.
2) Call for the executive to closely collaborate with the Judiciary on Court-Related Demolition Cases in Montserrado.
- The Unity Party Montserrado Youth Congress Leadership calls on the Executive, in consultation with party leadership, to undertake a comprehensive review of the court cases and demolition actions that have affected communities across Montserrado County.
- while our position promotes respect for due process, we are more concern that land and property rights are safeguarded, and that associated demolition activities to be balanced with meaningful resettlement options, fair compensation where appropriate, and transparent legal justification.
- We advocate that proactive and consultative approaches that involve affected residents, local leaders, and civil society be explored to prevent unilateral actions that could aggravate social and economic vulnerabilities.
3) Announcement: Unity Party Montserrado Youth Congress Advisory Council
- We announce the establishment of the Unity Party Montserrado Youth Congress Advisory Council, an essential body destinated that provides guidance, accountability, and strategic input to youth-led initiatives throughout Montserrado County.
- The Advisory Council will comprise respected national leaders, professionals, and youth representatives who share a commitment to service, governance reform, and youth empowerment.
- The Council’s roles include advising on policy priorities, youth engagement strategies, capacity-building programs, resource mobilization and mechanisms to strengthen youth participation in the democratic process.
We hereby announce and publish the inaugural roster and mandate, along with a clear framework for how youth voices will inform party activities, local development projects, and community outreach.
