Khethisa High School is in a celebratory mood!!!

Ahead of the Leribe District awards-giving ceremony, we proudly hosted our own special awards ceremony at the school for the class of 2025, where we presented the prestigious Prof. Motlatsi Molati Awards.

Prof. Molati holds a special place in the history of our school as the first student to pursue university studies after sitting for the COSC examinations in 1993. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at the National University of Lesotho. Since 2002, he has consistently supported and rewarded excellence in Mathematics and Science at Khethisa High School. We are deeply grateful for his unwavering commitment over the years.

The recipients are:
• Lerato Maqeba and Tokiso Sekants’i, who both achieved an A* in Mathematics and an A in Physical Science – each awarded M850 by Prof. Molati.
• Thato Molefe and Piti Tau, who each obtained an A in Mathematics and an A in Physical Science – each awarded M800 by Prof. Molati.

In addition, Khethisa High School topped up each award with M300 per student.

Special recognition goes to Lerato Maqeba, who achieved a national ranking of 6th position among top achievers. In honour of this outstanding accomplishment, the school awarded her a brand-new laptop and M1000 cash prize.

Following our school ceremony, we proceeded to the Leribe English Medium School Hall for the official district awards ceremony hosted by the Leribe District Education Office. Once again, Lerato Maqeba made us proud as she received recognition at this prestigious event.

Our school also excelled across multiple subjects, earning 8 subject awards:
• District Top 1: Mrs. Matlotliso Makhalane – Agriculture

• District Top 2:
Mrs. Malebohang Mohaeka – Literature in English

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Khethisa High School Class of 2025. These achievements would not have been possible without your dedication, hard work and commitment to excellence.

ORBITUARY!!!!

"Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of yet another student, Rapelang Sera, who was in Grade 8 last year.

Rapelang died on 29 December 2025 and he will be laid to rest at Mphosong, Pai-la-itlhatsoa Ha Senyokotho on 10 January 2026.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Rapelang’s family during this difficult time. We also kindly ask that both the family and our school be remembered in your prayers as we mourn his loss and seek comfort and strength in God.

May Rapelang's Soul Rest in Eternal Peace!
