Pils celta pēc Hansa Grīzebaha un Augusta Dinklāges projekta no 1893 līdz 1896. gadam sadarbībā ar gleznotāju un tēlnieku Vilhelmu Gizeki. Tās pasūtītājs un finansētājs bija Cesvaines muižnieks Ādolfs Gerhards Boriss Emīls fon Vulfs. Cesvaines pils ir Latvijas kultūras mantojuma izcila bagātība, kas vienīgā no visām Baltijas pilīm iekļauta respektablajā G. Baranovska 19. otrās puses arhitektūras enciklopēdijā. Šī izdevuma mērķis bija iepazīstināt sabiedrību ar tā laika izcilākajiem sasniegumiem pasaules arhitektūrā. Cesvaine Castle is an architectural monument of national significance. The castle was built according to the project of Hans Griesebach and August Dinklage from 1893 to 1896 in cooperation with the painter and sculptor Wilhelm Gizek. Its customer and financier was Cesvaine's landlord Adolf Gerhard Boris Emil von Wolf. Cesvaine Castle is a vivid example of eclecticism, in which architecture, sculpture, metal art and painting complement each other. Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Art Nouveau forms can be seen in the exterior and interior of the building. 5 art monuments of national significance are located in the castle and have preserved their original authenticity. Cesvaine Castle is an outstanding treasure of Latvia's cultural heritage, which is the only one of the Baltic castles included in the respectable 19th century G.
