At the turn of May and June we visited Romania. It was a long but very interesting journey (the team from Poland covered a total of almost 2600 km by car). During our five-day stay in Fogarasz, we visited, among others:
- Headquarters of the Protestant church community
- Day center Diakonia Association
- Home for the disabled Schirkanyen
- Civic Foundation
- Youth centers in Bekokten and Seligstadt.
An amazing impression was caused not only by the amazing Transylvanian-mountain landscape (fortunately, we managed to find some time for sightseeing - the views are breathtaking :) :) :) ) and the local architecture, but also the interesting methods of work that our hosts - Jugendzentrum Seligstadt - use in their educational work with young adults, i.e. summer camps for youth or handicraft workshops that not only teach the basics of craftsmanship, but also stimulate environmental awareness through the use of recycled materials :)

It was a pity to leave... see you at the next meeting!!!!

On October 31, 2022, the opening of the exhibition: Paths of Social Worker Engagement took place at the Nadelfabrik in Aachen.
Target group: politics and administration, NGOs, migrants of Polish descent

The vernissage, due to the gathered, diverse audience, was an excellent opportunity to conduct the dissemination event of the project "Key skills - new opportunities for adults". After the presentation of the project and its results, a very interesting discussion ensued, also in the context of adult education in the field of key competences and new projects for adult migrants. The meeting was also valuable in the context of promoting the Erasmus + program because it is not a widely known and used form of financing projects in Germany. Interestingly, the coordinator of the national Erasmus agency in Bonn participated in the meeting (as a participant) :)

What is worth emphasizing, the vernissage opened an exhibition of photos by Jurek Uske from Info-Forum-Polregio - a participant in the events of the Key skills project :) :) :) Congratulations!!!

On September 20-21, 2022, the final meeting of the project "Key skills - new opportunities for adults" took place. It was an extremely inspiring and busy time, but we also found space for a bit of fun :) During the two-day meeting, we discussed the results and effects of the project and its course. We also talked about plans for the future and worked out ideas for further joint projects and activities. It was also an opportunity for deeper integration in a wider than usual group, to taste Polish cuisine (pierogis and pork knuckle!!!) and do some sightseeing across the green forests surrounding Olsztyn. We took part in the dissemination event, we also met a representative of the Marshal's Office in Olsztyn and the mayor of Górowo Iławeckie - Cittaslow Deputy President.

And finally, a photo session on the roof with a view of Olsztyn :)

Another expedition as part of the Key skills project - new opportunities for adults! :) :) :)

On September 23-27, project partners had the opportunity to participate in a study visit to Evora, Portugal. Organizations from Romania (Jugendzentrum Seligstadt), Latvia (Gulbenes novads), Germany (Info-Forum-Polregio) and Poland (Federacja Organizacji Socjalnych Województwa Warmińsko-Mazurskiego FOSa) took part in the trip. The purpose of the trip was to learn about good practices of our foreign partner Universidade Sénior Évora.
The program included, among others: a study visit to the thriving Evorian organization Fundacao Eugenio de Almeida, a visit to the headquarters of Grupo Diario do Sul publishing house and radio, bread baking in Valverde, and visiting the Adega Ervideira Winery.
The hosts of the trip presented the participants with practices that they use in their activities for seniors: interesting quizzes on general knowledge and culture, the Peddy Paper - City Tour field game, integration with board games in a local social enterprise.
Everyone was impressed by a visit to a small collector's club run by local seniors and learning about the process of producing cork from cork oaks growing in the Alentejo area.

And soon Info-Point-Polregio will host us in Aachen during the next meeting as part of the Key Skills project!
See you there! :) :) :)

On September 21 in the Provincial Public Library in Olsztyn the meeting entitled "Stimulate Your Brain - Activity-Based Personal Development" was held.

It was an opportunity to discuss conscious personal development, its psychological foundations, values and needs that determine its directions, as well as the impact of various types of activities on the development of key skills. The event was attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations working with volunteers, but also of the provincial government (ROPS, Górowo Iławeckie Commune) and public employment service institutions promoting volunteering as a form of professional activation (Provincial Labor Office in Olsztyn, OHP, Poviat Labor Office in Szczytno). We also had the pleasure of hosting representatives of organizations from Portugal, Latvia, Germany and Romania who arrived in Olsztyn at that time - our Partners in the Erasmus+ project "Key skills - new opportunities for adults". The meeting was also the dissemination event of our project, during which we talked about its implementation and project results, presented international good practices in the field of adult education, and showed the initial version of our Good Practices Guide.
The meeting was a space for discussion on the use of alternative forms of adult education using learning through experience. The positive impact of informal, practical educational methods on personal development was strongly emphasized. The topics that were addressed were:
• About the neurofact in a quarter of an hour or how much stress has a negative impact on learning - Guy from stress - Agnieszka Ewald, coach, trainer, author of educational programs
• Bet on development. Volunteering and its impact on our potential - Dr n. spol. Nina Woderska – Pracownia Integracji Pokoleń, doctor of social sciences in the field of pedagogy, researcher and trainer of civic education
• About an excused absence, or why it is worth looking for educational alternatives? – dr Piotr Wasyluk, Wasyluk Creative Design
• Key skills - new opportunities for adults. International methods of non-formal education - dr Joanna Szymańska, Polregio E.V. from Aachen, coordinator of the "INFO POINT POLREGIO" project
• Activity, learning, development. How to change the world for the better and build your personal brand based on volunteering - Marek Zbytniewski, volunteer coordinator, FOSa Federation
It was an extremely successful, thought-provoking meeting. The involvement of representatives of various environments - scientific, social, administrative - allowed to look at the idea of adult education and shaping key competences through activity from different perspectives.

From August 15 to 19, participants of the Erasmus+ project "Key skills - new opportunities for adults" met in Gulbene to get acquainted with the experience of non-formal education of adults in Gulbene district.
The guests visited Gulbene county social care centers "Jaungulbenes Alejas" and "Siltais", where they had the opportunity to play a board game with the seniors and participate in the music therapy working group, as well as get to know practically the everyday life of the Gulbene county social care center.
The Learning Center of the Gulbene County Library was also visited, where the participants got acquainted with the non-formal adult education programs offered by the center, the databases subscribed to by the Gulbene County Library, other online resources and the possibilities of using them. The participants were very satisfied and believed that this experience can also be used outside Gulbene region.
In order to demonstrate the formation of Latvian lifestyle skills through the preservation, popularization and updating of Latvian cultural heritage and craft skills, ensuring creative activities, useful and meaningful leisure time, stimulating interest in life in the countryside and rural work, we also visited the center of Latvian lifestyle in Druvien. At the center, a master class was conducted for participants on how to make cheese and patties at home. There was interest, recipes were even asked for.
Accompanied by Inga Nagle, a landscape gardener from Lejasciemie, the project participants learned some skills in floristry, made decorations - mats - from natural materials. In order to understand what people do in Lejasciema parish, we also visited the "Pulss" youth center and the Cultural and Historical Heritage and Traditions Center.
The educational and interactive center "Railway and Steam" at the Gulbene railway station, which is a testimony of the development of Latvia's cultural-historical and industrial heritage, was also visited. With the purchased souvenirs, we enjoyed the ride with a baniti to the Stämeriene stop. The project visit ended in "Rubeņi" of Stradu parish, learning how to make body scrubs, bath bombs and soaps.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🥰🥰🥰

The year 2021 finally marked the beginning of the face-to-face meetings of the Key Skills project, a project that, as its name implies, aims to help develop key competencies. To this end, a good practice manual will be set up about the five countries concerned; Germany (Info-Point-Polregio), Latvia (Gulbenes novads), Poland (Federacja Organizacji Socjalnych Województwa Warmińsko-Mazurskiego FOSa), Portugal (Universidade Sénior Évora)and Romania (Jugendzentrum Seligstadt).

There have already been two of the five views of good practice; in Portugal and Germany. In these two meetings we saw a little bit of everything. In Portugal during the month of September participants were able to observe, an innovative way to learn using new technologies (in the case studied learned about the city), visit institutions whose social work is relevant to the community and see how you can use board games to increase your key skills. They were also able to develop some key skills of a more traditional nature, but essential in today's demanding world, like the method of producing wine and bread in a traditional way, as well as knowing a little of the Portuguese culture that greatly pleased the participants.

In Germany, participants had the opportunity to visit several institutions that do a meritorious and innovative job in acquiring key skills, such as the use of "language coffee" where those who participate can learn a language while enjoying a coffee, as well as integrating and developing key skills through cooking. However, probably the most innovative of all that has been seen in Germany was institutions that are giving political support to certain "invisible" groups, showing them their rights and giving them support for, for example, taking part in local decision-making councils. Participants also had the opportunity to meet with a regional deputy member, i.e. a legislator. To all this added the greater knowledge of the German culture to which the participants were subjected and which pleased them very much.

Germany. Polregio was founded 15 years ago in Aachen, at the meeting point of the Dutch, German and Belgian borders, for Polish families in exile. The association organised cultural life, through education of adults and young people.

From 2019 onwards it takes up topics related to systemic integration and social and participatory issues.

Info-Point Polregio e.V. is a network of social structures in NRW and sees itself as a representation of interests for migrants of Polish descent in NRW, among others. Based on the fact that opportunities for participation are often limited in the context of society as a whole, the professionals working in the Info-Point Polregio fields of work act with an understanding of professional strategies for exerting influence in order to assert the rights of Poles in Germany.
