Nusantara, the new capital project in Indonesia. The new capital of Indonesia will be a "10-minute city". President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi)'s environmentally-friendly concept for the upcoming Nusantara in East Kalimantan has been attracting public attention. According to his recent speech, 80 percent of the vehicles will be public transportation in Nusantara, enabling people to reach any destination in "10 minutes". The current capital, Jakarta is exposed to serious environmental problems such as traffic congestion due to overcrowding. While the situation is improving through various policies, the government hopes to take the opportunity of the capital relocation to renew its environmental policies.

The new capital is planning to have a 70 percent green area coverage that leads to two-degree reduction in temperature, committing to build a zero emission city by 2060.
Relocation is expected to start in 2024.
