A productive day at the Annual Meeting and Business Forum of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), one of the most important international platforms for dialogue on investment, economic development, and sustainable growth. This year, it is taking place in Riga, Latvia. 📍

🇦🇪🤝🏼🇱🇻 It was a pleasure to meet with a delegation from the UAE Ministry of Finance attending the forum, discuss opportunities for closer UAE–Latvia cooperation, and showcase some of the beauty and dynamism of Riga.

We also visited the RigaWaterfront project, a significant UAE investment that reflects the strong and growing partnership between our two countries.

A wonderful evening celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Latvian Diplomatic Choir.

This unique choir brings together diplomats, ambassadors, and music enthusiasts, performing a diverse repertoire in many languages, including Arabic.

🎶 The concert was uplifting, inspiring, and a beautiful reminder of how music can connect people.

As drone technologies become increasingly important for modern security and resilience, it’s important to exchange experiences and knowledge. Latvia demonstrates strong leadership in defence innovation and international cooperation.

Every year, European Museum Night transforms cities across Europe through art, exhibitions, and cultural experiences, offering a chance to discover places and ideas beyond the everyday.

As part of this year’s programme in Riga, I attended “CURRENT - Art & Event Series” at Riga Waterfront, a contemporary exhibition experience bringing art, atmosphere, and industrial space together in a unique way.

Liepāja is a beautiful coastal city in Latvia, often called the City of Wind, and in 2027, it will become the European Capital of Culture. It was a pleasure to attend the presentation of its cultural programme at the beautiful Olafoundation.lv

The programme connects art, music, community, sustainability, and contemporary ideas, from large-scale performances and international collaborations to community-led projects across a wider region of Kurzeme. Various events will explore themes of resilience, creativity, belonging, and Europe’s future through culture.

🇦🇪🇱🇻 A wonderful evening, and it was a good chance to explore ways of connection between UAE and Latvia through art and creativity.
