تشرفت سفارة اليابان في ليبيا بحضور مهرجان “تراثنا هويتنا” الذي أُقيم بالسرايا الحمراء التاريخية في طرابلس، والذي احتفى بالتراث الثقافي الليبي من خلال الحرف التقليدية، والعروض الفنية، ومعارض الصناعات اليدوية المحلية. وقد سعدت السفارة بالمشاركة في هذا الحدث الثقافي المميز، وأُعجبت بالأصالة التي عكستها التقاليد الليبية، وإبداع الحرفيين المحليين، والأجواء الفريدة للموقع التاريخي الذي جسّد عمق وتنوع الهوية الثقافية الليبية.

The Embassy of Japan in Libya was pleased and honored to attend the “Our Heritage is Our Identity” festival held at the historic Red Castle, celebrating Libya’s rich cultural heritage through traditional handicrafts, folklore performances, and local artisan exhibitions. The Embassy greatly enjoyed participating in this vibrant cultural event and was deeply impressed by the authenticity of Libyan traditions, the creativity of local artisans, and the unique atmosphere of the historic venue, which beautifully reflected the depth and diversity of Libya’s cultural identity.

التقى سفير اليابان لدى ليبيا، السيد شيمّورا إيزورو، مع وزير الدولة لشؤون رئيس الحكومة ومجلس الوزراء، السيد محمد بن غلبون، بحضور السيد مصطفى المانع، رئيس الفريق التنفيذي لمبادرات رئيس الوزراء والمشروعات الاستراتيجية، والسيد حسن بن رابحة، مدير إدارة شؤون اسيا وأستراليا بوزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي.

وجرى خلال اللقاء تبادل وجهات النظر حول العلاقات اليابانية الليبية، وسبل توسيع مجالات التعاون بما يواكب أولويات المرحلة الحالية ويعزز التواصل المؤسسي بين الجانبين.

وأكد السفير شيمّورا حرص اليابان على مواصلة دعم الحوار والتعاون مع ليبيا، وبحث فرص جديدة للشراكة في المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

Ambassador of Japan to Libya, Mr. Shimmura Izuru, met with the Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs, Mr. Mohammed Ben Ghalboun, with the attendance of Mr. Mustafa Al-Manea, Head of the Executive Team for the Prime Minister’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects, and Mr. Hassan Bin Rabha, Director of the Asia and Australia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on Japan-Libya relations and discussed ways to expand cooperation in line with current priorities and to further strengthen institutional communication between both sides.
Ambassador Shimmura reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to continuing dialogue and cooperation with Libya, while exploring new opportunities for partnership in areas of mutual interest.

تشرف سفارة اليابان في ليبيا بالمشاركة في احتفالية اليونسكو «التعليم والثقافة والعلوم مع اليونسكو»، التي أُقيمت يوم 29 أبريل 2026 في موقع لبدة الكبرى الأثري، المدرج على قائمة التراث العالمي.
وقد شارك سعادة السفير شيمورا، برفقة دبلوماسيي السفارة، إلى جانب مسؤولين ليبيين وممثلي الأمم المتحدة وأعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي، في هذه المناسبة التي تزامنت مع إعادة افتتاح مكتب اليونسكو في طرابلس، والتي مثلت أيضًا عودة الحضور المؤسسي للمنظمة داخل ليبيا، وتعزيز التعاون الدولي في مجالات التعليم والثقافة والعلوم.
كما تمثل هذه المناسبة أهمية خاصة لليابان، حيث يصادف عام 2026 الذكرى الخامسة والسبعين للشراكة بين اليابان ومنظمة اليونسكو. وعلى مدى العقود الماضية، عملت اليابان بشكل وثيق مع اليونسكو لتعزيز السلام والتنمية المستدامة والحفاظ على التراث الثقافي في جميع أنحاء العالم.

The Embassy of Japan in Libya is honored to have participated in the UNESCO ceremony “Celebrate Education, Culture and the Sciences with UNESCO,” held on 29 April 2026 at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Leptis Magna.

H.E. Ambassador Shimmura, together with embassy diplomats, joined Libyan officials, representatives of the United Nations, and members of the diplomatic corps in marking the reopening of the UNESCO Office in Tripoli. The event also celebrated the return of UNESCO’s institutional presence in Libya and highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and science.

This occasion also holds special significance for Japan, as 2026 marks the 75th anniversary of the partnership between Japan and UNESCO. Over the decades, Japan has worked closely with UNESCO to promote peace, sustainable development, and the preservation of cultural heritage worldwide.

The Embassy reaffirms Japan’s commitment to supporting UNESCO’s efforts in Libya and strengthening cooperation in the years ahead.

في يوم 5 مايو، تحتفل اليابان بيوم الأطفال (كودومو نو هي)، وهو عيد وطني مخصص لسعادة الأطفال وصحتهم ومستقبلهم المشرق. في هذا اليوم، تقوم العائلات تقليديًا بعرض نماذج مصغّرة من دروع أو خوذات الساموراي (كابوتو)، والتي ترمز إلى الحماية والقوة، وتعكس أمنياتهم بأن ينشأ الأطفال في أمان ويتمتعوا بالصحة والمرونة. كما تزيّن السماء رايات ملوّنة على شكل أسماك الشبوط، في تعبير عن الأمل والشجاعة وأهمية رعاية الأجيال القادمة.

هذا العام، سعدنا أيضًا بمشاركة لحظة ثقافية مميزة في أكاديمية TLC، حيث احتفل الطلاب بالزي الوطني الليبي. وقد كانت فرصة رائعة لاكتشاف غنى وتنوع الأزياء التقليدية الليبية، وتعزيز التبادل الثقافي والتفاهم المتبادل.

تُذكّرنا مثل هذه المناسبات بأن الاختلاف في التقاليد لا يمنع اشتراكنا في القيم الأساسية—كالاحترام والهوية والأمل في مستقبل أفضل للأجيال القادمة.

On May 5, Japan celebrates Children’s Day (Kodomo no Hi), a national holiday dedicated to the happiness, health, and bright future of children. Traditionally, families display miniature samurai armor or helmets (kabuto), symbolizing protection, strength, and the wish for children to grow up safe and resilient. Alongside colorful carp streamers flying in the sky, these traditions reflect values of hope, courage, and the importance of nurturing the next generation.

This year, we were delighted to also share a cultural moment at TLC Academy, where students celebrated Libyan National Dress. It was a wonderful opportunity to experience the richness and diversity of Libyan traditional clothing, and to promote cultural exchange and mutual appreciation.

Moments like these remind us that while traditions may differ, the values they carry—respect, identity, and hope for future generations—are shared across cultures.

في 28 أبريل 2026، شاركت سفارة اليابان في ليبيا في زيارة ميدانية مشتركة مع برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي إلى بلدية تاجوراء، حيث تم اللقاء مع أعضاء المجلس البلدي المنتخبين حديثًا.

وتركزت الزيارة على إجراء حوار مباشر مع ممثلي البلدية، ما أتاح فرصة لفهم أولوياتهم وخططهم التنموية والتحديات التي يواجهونها بشكل أفضل.

On 28 April 2026, the Embassy of Japan in Libya joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on a joint field visit to Tajoura, engaging with the newly elected municipal council.

The visit focused on direct dialogue with local representatives, providing an opportunity to better understand the municipality’s priorities, development plans, and the challenges it faces.

We are truly honored to acknowledge the meaningful progress achieved through Japan's contributions to the rehabilitation of key educational and healthcare facilities in Libya, including the wastewater treatment plant, the oxygen facility, and the Tajoura National Heart Center - the one and only cardiology hospital in Tripoli - which we had the privilege of visiting. We sincerely hope that these efforts, however small, serve as a reflection of Japan's enduring friendship with the Libyan people and its genuine commitment to supporting Libya's recovery and development.

Through its partnership with UNDP, Japan remains committed to advancing human security, strengthening local governance, and supporting sustainable and inclusive development across Libya.
