On 2 September 2026, Mr. Mohamed Salem Boidaha, Honorary Consul of Malaysia in Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Edi Irwan bin Mahmud, Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Morocco.

The courtesy call served as an introductory meeting and provided an opportunity for H.E. Mr. Edi Irwan bin Mahmud to establish contact with the Honorary Consul and exchange views on matters pertaining to Malaysia’s representation and interests in Mauritania. The meeting also underscored the importance of close coordination between the Honorary Consulate in Nouakchott and the Embassy of Malaysia in Rabat in facilitating matters concerning Malaysia and its citizens in Mauritania.

On 2 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Edi Irwan bin Mahmud, Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Morocco, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Fabio Chinda, Ambassador of Thailand to the Kingdom of Morocco in Rabat. The courtesy call provided an opportunity for both Ambassadors to strengthen the close ties and coordination particularly in the context of ASEAN cooperation and engagement with the Moroccan authorities.

On 1 September 2026, Tuan Haji Khairul Anuar bin Abu Bakar, Manager (Industry and Social Development), Yayasan Pahang, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Edi Irwan bin Mahmud, Ambassador-designate of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Morocco. He was accompanied by 14 new Yayasan Pahang scholarship recipients who will be pursuing their studies at Al-Qarawiyyin University in Fez.

The courtesy call also served as an introductory session for the students to familiarise themselves with the Embassy of Malaysia in Rabat. During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Edi Irwan bin Mahmud briefed the students on the role and functions of the Embassy, as well as the assistance and support available to Malaysian students in Morocco.

🇲🇾 Selamat Hari Kebangsaan Ke-69, Malaysiaku Tercinta! 🇲🇾

Pada 31 Ogos 2026, Kedutaan Besar Malaysia di Rabat bersama rakyat Malaysia yang menetap di Rabat telah berkumpul bagi meraikan sambutan Hari Kebangsaan Ke-69 dalam suasana penuh semangat patriotisme dan kecintaan terhadap tanah air.

TYT Edi Irwan bin Mahmud, Duta Besar Malaysia ke Maghribi, dalam amanat beliau menyeru seluruh rakyat Malaysia di perantauan agar terus menyemai semangat patriotisme, memelihara nama baik serta mengharumkan imej Malaysia di mana sahaja berada.

Beliau turut mengajak rakyat Malaysia untuk terus menghayati semangat Malaysia MADANI dalam bersama-sama membina sebuah negara yang sejahtera, bersatu padu, inklusif dan maju.

Walau jauh di perantauan, Malaysia tetap dekat di hati.

On 30 August 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia in Rabat successfully organized a Quran Hour program at the Chancery. Embassy officials gathered to recite and reflect upon the verses of the Holy Quran, fostering unity and spiritual growth.

ASEAN BAZAAR AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL 2026

On 25 July 2026, the ASEAN Committee in Rabat (ACR) commemorated the 59th ASEAN Day with the ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony, hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy. The event was attended by ASEAN Heads of Mission in Rabat, Moroccan Government officials, and members of the diplomatic corps.

Following the ceremony, the ACR organised the ASEAN Bazaar and Cultural Festival, which celebrated the rich cultural diversity and culinary heritage of ASEAN Member States. The Embassy of Malaysia featured traditional Malaysian favourites, including Nasi Lemak and Sirap Selasih, while a group of Malaysian students impressed the audience with a vibrant Silat martial arts performance, showcasing Malaysia's rich cultural heritage.
