Morocco celebrates “La Fête de la Jeunesse” every 21st August. The date is intentionally chosen to coincide with His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s birthday, continuing a historical tradition that links the monarchy with the country’s young generation.

The day celebrates young people and their role in shaping Morocco’s future through official ceremonies and cultural activities.

This focus on youth is also reflected in Danish-Moroccan cooperation through the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP), which supports youth inclusion, civic participation, and opportunities for young people.

The Danish embassy in Rabat extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Say hello to our new interns, Samantha, Katrine and Inas. It’s been almost two weeks since they began their journey at the Danish Embassy in Rabat, and now it’s time to introduce them 👋

⚖️ Hi! I’m Samantha, and I’m the new Communication and Public Diplomacy Intern at the Embassy. I’m a Law Student at the University of Copenhagen, currently in the final year of my Bachelor’s degree. I’m very excited to add more international and diplomatic knowledge to my studies. During my internship, I’ll be supporting the Embassy’s communication and public diplomacy work, while getting the opportunity to learn more about diplomacy, international relations and strategic communication in practice. I’m very excited for everything this experience has in store and to learn as much as I can along the way ✨

🏛️ Hi! I’m Katrine, the new Political Intern at the Embassy. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Copenhagen, and for the next six months, I will be working with political affairs related to Morocco and Mauritania. I am especially interested in international affairs, and I am excited to deepen my knowledge of the MENA region. I hope to gain hands-on experience with Danish diplomacy and bilateral relations in practice, while also improving my French. I look forward to living in Rabat and spending my weekends swimming, surfing and exploring more of Morocco 🌄

📈 Hi! I’m Inas, and I’m the new Trade Intern. I’m currently in the final year of my Master’s degree in Commercial Law at Aalborg University. During my internship I’ll be supporting the Trade Council with market research, export promotion, and work related to Danish companies and their activities in Morocco and the wider MENA region. I’m particularly interested in international trade and the commercial relations between Denmark and Morocco. With my Danish and Moroccan roots, I’m excited to spend the next six months, getting to know the country from a different perspective while further developing my French and Darija 💫

🇫🇴✨ Góða Ólavsøku/Happy Ólavsøka! ✨🇫🇴

Today is the National Day of the Faroe Islands, one of the most important cultural and political occasions of the year.

The Faroe Islands is an archipelago of 18 mountainous islands in the North Atlantic and is a self-governing country within The Kingdom of Denmark.

Sixteen of the islands are inhabited, and they are well-connected with paved roads, tunnels, subsea tunnels, bridges and ferry lines.

A highlight of the celebrations is the Miðnáttarsangur, or midnight sing-along. At midnight on 29 July, around 10.000 Faroe Islanders gather in central Torshavn to sing traditional Faroese songs together. 🎶

We wish the Faroe Islands a happy celebration🇫🇴🎊

✅ downloader Udenrigsministeriets gratis app Rejseklar
✅ tilmelder dig Danskerlisten

Denmark at the Tour de France🇩🇰🚴

Denmark is a nation on two wheels and that spirit was strongly represented at this year’s Tour de France, with seven Danish riders on the starting line. 💛

But Sunday was a difficult day for Danish cycling. After a crash during Stage 15, Denmark’s cycling hero Jonas Vingegaard was forced to leave the 2026 Tour de France. It marked the first time in six appearances that he did not complete the race. In each of his previous five Tours, he reached the podium, including victories in 2022 and 2023. 🏆

As the Tour continues, we also celebrate the five Danish riders still carrying the red and white colours on the roads of France:
🚴 Mads Pedersen
🚴 Mattias Skjelmose
🚴 Kasper Asgreen
🚴 Magnus Cort
🚴 Michael Valgren
Allez, allez, allez! 🚴‍♂️🔥

And to Jonas: we wish you a full recovery. Denmark is proud of you. ❤️🤍
