Lithuanian artist and composer Lina Lapelytė has transformed Tate Modern’s vast Turbine Hall into a living, ever-changing performance.

Her new participatory installation invites visitors to move through a maze, walk, stamp, jump and sing along with a specially created soundscape.

There is no fixed stage and no passive audience, every visitor becomes part of the artwork.

🎶 Each gesture, sound and movement contributes to a collective choreography created in real time. With every new group of participants, the work begins again in a completely different form.

🏆 Lapelytė, one of the creators of the Golden Lion-winning opera-performance Sun & Sea, continues to blur the boundaries between music, performance, visual art and everyday life.

🤖 Lithuania’s Team Android has conquered Portugal’s first official FIRST Tech Challenge tournament in Lisbon.

Represented by Dainius and Andrius Užusenis, the team faced 12 competitors from seven European countries, and won every single match.

Android secured the Winning Alliance title and took home the prestigious Control Award for its advanced autonomous programming, precise robot control and unique automatic targeting system.

⚡ The robot can launch three balls at the target in just half a second.

The Lisbon victory adds Portugal to Android’s growing list of international wins, following earlier triumphs in Lithuania and Poland.

And there is more: at the 2026 FTC World Championship in Houston, Android achieved the highest score ever recorded by a Lithuanian team in the country’s FTC history.

Lithuanian engineering talent, speed and strategy at their best. 🇱🇹

Are you familiar with the 5% club?

The term gained prominence after last year's NATO Summit in The Hague, where NATO Allies agreed to increase defence spending from 2% to 5% of GDP annually by 2035.

According to NATO's latest estimates, Lithuania has already reached that benchmark – nine years ahead of schedule.

At 5.33% of GDP, Lithuania now allocates the highest share to defence among NATO Allies. But security is not measured by the size of a budget alone. What matters is how those resources are invested.

In Lithuania, they are being invested in expanding industrial capacity, strengthening international cooperation, driving high-tech innovation, and modernising our armed forces. The goal is simple: to ensure that our people, visitors, and the companies choosing to invest and grow here feel secure – not through words, but through tangible action.

Lithuania is moving forward with plans to develop a modern film studio in Vilnius, aiming to strengthen the country’s rapidly growing audiovisual sector and attract larger international productions.

Already the regional leader in audiovisual production volumes, Lithuania’s sector generated a record €208 million in turnover in 2025 and has grown by an average of 19% annually since 2017. To build on this success, the government has committed to developing audiovisual production infrastructure in Vilnius by 2030.

The initiative aims to attract more international productions, boost investment, create highly skilled jobs, and reinforce Vilnius' position as a key film production hub in the Baltic and Nordic markets.

Lithuania’s start-up scene is having a moment. 🚀

In just five years, the ecosystem’s value has grown almost sixfold, reaching EUR 16.4 billion.

But the strongest signal is not only growth – it is confidence. Start-ups launched in Lithuania are choosing to build their future here.

Only 26% of Lithuanian growth-stage start-ups move their headquarters abroad – the lowest share in Central and Eastern Europe.

The momentum is real:

🔹 EUR 220 million raised by Lithuanian start-ups in 2025
🔹 No. 2 in Central and Eastern Europe for VC investment per capita
🔹 Vilnius start-ups raised EUR 212 million – 66% more than in 2024
🔹 Women-founded or co-founded start-ups attract 21% of all VC investment – the second-highest share in Europe
