Peace Corps Moldova

Peace Corps Moldova Government Organization
Over 1600 American Peace Corps Volunteers have served in the Republic of Moldova since the program was established in 1993.

Welcome to the official Peace Corps Moldova page! Like us and follow to learn what Peace Corps Volunteers do in the country. About Peace Corps. The Peace Corps traces its roots and mission to 1960, when then Senator John F. Kennedy challenged students at the University of Michigan to serve their country in the cause of peace by living and working in developing countries. From that inspira

tion grew an agency of the federal government devoted to world peace and friendship. Since that time, more than 240,000 Americans of all ages have responded to Kennedy’s call to serve and have helped communities in 161 countries to work on issues ranging from AIDS education to information technology and environmental preservation. Today's Peace Corps is more vital than ever, working in emerging and essential areas such as information technology and business development, and contributing to the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. Peace Corps Volunteers continue to support countless individuals who want to build a better life for themselves, their children, and their communities. COMMENT POLICY

🛬🇲🇩 As we prepare to welcome our new group of Peace Corps Volunteers in less than a week, here's a look at the work that begins months before they arrive.
🚙🏡Through our site identification process, staff visit communities and organizations interested in hosting future Volunteers. Current Volunteers often join these visits and this time, Volunteer Max accompanied the Community and Organizational Development team to help explore potential placements and partnerships.

🔔Last week, we celebrated Volunteer Brooke as she rang the Close of Service Bell, marking the completion of three years of teaching English in Moldova. As one of the first Peace Corps Volunteers to return to 🇲🇩after a long pause — and the only member of her cohort to extend her service — Brooke made a meaningful impact in her community and school.

🤝Thank you, Brooke, for your dedication and service. We wish you all the best in your next chapter.

Special thanks to her mother for sharing this memorable moment with us.

🙋Meet our Response Volunteer Mark.

In addition to his assignment in Moldova with the National institute for leadership and education Mark recently accepted invitation to speak with the after-school entrepreneur class for students in grades 4–7. He shared his experience as a business owner and answered lots of thoughtful questions from the students.

Mark and his wife, Dara, previously served as Response Volunteers in Botswana before joining Peace Corps Moldova.

📜At the invitation of the National Museum of History, 30 Peace Corps Volunteers proudly supported the “Night at the Museum” celebration.
📽The event was filled with fun, learning, and new connections as visitors played Peace Corps Jeopardy, enjoyed video presentation showing 33 years of Peace Corps Volunteers serving in the Republic of Moldova, and explored the museum together.
Volunteers were happy to help wherever needed, making the event a memorable celebration of community and cultural exchange.
