The American Corner Tolagnaro is a distinguished cross-cultural resource center, established in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy Madagascar and the Comoros, QMM Rio Tinto, and the Community English Center of Fort Dauphin. This center provides the community of Fort Dauphin with access to a vast array of resources, including hundreds of books, American English and Education USA materials, computers equipped with high-speed internet, a 3D printer, and a collection of DVDs and CDs. The American Corner hosts an extensive variety of programs designed to enrich the community's knowledge and skills. These include a daily English Club for visitors, an English Club for students held every Wednesday and Saturday, English classes for members, a monthly English Café, and bi-weekly radio shows focused on English learning. Additionally, the center offers soft skills and career-building activities, in-person or live presentations in English or Malagasy, an Entrepreneurship Contest, World Environment Day events, and various cross-cultural celebrations. These programs enable members to broaden their horizons and enhance their English language skills while learning about American culture. The American Corner is open to the public free of charge six days a week, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, closing at 11:00 AM on Saturdays. The center is closed on all American and Malagasy holidays, and any changes to the regular operating hours are announced to the public at least 24 hours in advance. Individuals aged 10 and older are welcome to join for free, using their National ID or that of a parent or family member.
