Regional Cooperation Council - RCC Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) serves regional cooperation in South East Europe to spark development and growth to the benefit of its people

The Regional Cooperation Council is an all-inclusive, regionally owned and led cooperation framework, launched on 27 February 2008 at the meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) in Sofia. It functions as a focal point for regional cooperation in SEE and its key role is to spark development in the region to the benefit of its people. RCC he

We see our region as a prosperous place of dialogue, freedom and mobility, rich in cultural heritage, where each person feels safe and protected by the rule of law. The organization is headed by the Secretary General, Majlinda Bregu, and has a Secretariat based in Sarajevo, and a Liaison Office in Brussels.

Wrapping up the Second Regional Conference on Youth Cultural Cooperation, organised by RCC’s EU-funded project in partnership with the SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL🎬🤝

Young filmmakers and art students from across the came together to exchange ideas, learn from one another and build new regional connections. Along the way, they presented their own films, took part in masterclasses, workshops and industry exchanges, and joined networking sessions and conversations with leading names from the world of cinema.

A space to learn, connect and experience the film industry up close, with young regional talent at the centre of it all. 🎥✨

RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanovic opening the “What Do We Ask of the Next Generation? Film, Democracy and Regional Competitiveness” discussion at Second Regional Conference on Youth Cultural Cooperation organised by the RCC’s WBYL project in cooperation with the SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL.

“Creative industries matter to our economies, as they contribute roughly 3 to 5% of GDP and around 3.5% of employment. This is not a marginal sector, as it already has a real economic impact, and that is what makes it important for regional cooperation. But as youth unemployment in our region still stands at around 25 to 30%, creative industries can also give young people careers built on their own skills and ideas,” said RCC SG during his opening remarks.

Ahead of the panel bringing together representatives of European and regional institutions and film sector, Luigi Soreca, Evropska unija u Bosni i Hercegovini Ambassador also delivered introductory remarks and gave an EU perspective.

The panel also gathered young artists from art academies of the , participants from the SFF’s Talents Sarajevo and emerging filmmakers who contributed with their own perspectives.

🎬 Second Regional Conference on Youth Cultural Cooperation, organised by RCC’s project in partnership with the SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL opened in today

During the next 5 days more than a dozen emerging filmmakers and film students from across the are taking part in screenings, masterclasses, industry exchanges, workshops, networking and conversations with leading names from the world of cinema.

“Talent is personal, but it rarely grows alone. It needs opportunity, space and other talented people around it. This is why we wanted to go one step further this year. We are giving young people from across our region the chance to meet, learn, exchange ideas and build relationships. Stories shape how we see one another, and giving a new generation the space to tell their own stories is one of the most meaningful investments we can make,” said RCC Secretary General Amer Kapetanović opening the conference.

By combining screenings, professional exchange, access to international expertise and opportunities to build contacts, the Conference aims to provide young filmmakers with ⏭️ access to people, ideas, audiences and opportunities.
