Official Response and Denial
We strongly reject and categorically deny the allegations contained in the report titled "Alleged Extortion and Armed Activities Against Poor Fishermen Reported Near Cox’s Bazar Border Area."
The claims accusing members of the Rohingya Solidarity Organization (RSO) of extortion, intimidation, confiscation of fishing equipment, involvement in drug smuggling, and attacks against local fishermen are entirely false, unsubstantiated, and unsupported by credible evidence.
RSO has never adopted a policy of targeting civilians, poor fishermen, or local communities. Any attempt to associate our organization with criminal activities without verified facts is misleading and damages the reputation of those who are struggling for the rights, dignity, and security of their people.
We call upon media organizations, journalists, and concerned parties to verify information through reliable and independent sources before publishing serious allegations. Unverified reports can create unnecessary fear, tension, and misunderstanding among local communities.
We support the safety and well-being of all civilians living in border areas and encourage impartial investigations by relevant authorities into any genuine incidents that may occur. Facts should be established through evidence, not rumors, speculation, or anonymous accusations.
We remain committed to truth, justice, and the protection of innocent civilians, and we reject any attempt to spread misinformation or falsely attribute criminal acts to our organization.
