Americans living abroad should re-enroll in STEP each year to continue to receive alerts and be connected with the local U.S. Embassy. You will receive a reminder email when your subscription is about to end and can click to extend it by another year. Enroll (or re-enroll) at step.state.gov.

Suspension of Embassy Services

In order to respond to the earthquake that affected Burma (Myanmar) on March 28 and better assist American citizens:

- We are suspending non-emergency consular services, including visa services, while continuing American Citizen Services.
- The American Center Yangon and Jefferson Center Mandalay are closed to the public.
