German Embassy Yangon takes note of the U.S. designation of U Min Zin as “wrongfully detained” in China.

U Min Zin, Executive Director of the Institute for Strategy and Policy – Myanmar (ISP-Myanmar), was detained in China on 3 June while travelling to Kunming for an academic workshop.

We remain concerned about U Min Zin’s continued detention and ask for a resolution that respects due process and his fundamental rights.

Humanitarian work isn’t “cute”. It’s necessary.

As one of the world’s largest humanitarian donors, Germany provided €1.06 billion in humanitarian assistance in 2025, reaching around 7.3 million people worldwide. This World Humanitarian Day, 19 August, Germany recognises the organisations working around the world to support people affected by conflict and disasters.

🇩🇪 German Red Cross works with local Red Cross and Red Crescent partners across the region. In Myanmar, it strengthens disaster preparedness and response capacities, while in the Philippines and Vietnam, it works with communities to prepare for recurring natural hazards.

👧 Save the Children Deutschland supports children and families affected by crises, helping them access essential services, protection and emergency assistance across Asia through local partnerships and humanitarian response.

🩺 Doctors Without Borders provides independent medical humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict, displacement, disease and disasters. Across Southeast Asia, it provides medical care and psychological support where needs are greatest.

🤝 Aktion Deutschland Hilft brings together more than 20 German relief organisations to coordinate assistance during major disasters, including emergency support following the 2025 Myanmar earthquake.

Behind every crisis are people. And behind every response are people choosing to help.

၁၉၅၁ ခုနှစ်ကစလို့ ကျွန်ုပ်တို့အနေနဲ့ ဘာသာစကား၊ ယဉ်ကျေးမှုနဲ့ အပြန်အလှန် ဆွေးနွေးပြောဆိုမှုတွေကနေတစ်ဆင့် ကမ္ဘာတစ်ဝန်းက လူထုကို စုစည်းချိတ်ဆက်ပေးခဲ့ပါတယ်။
