Effective May 31st I am no longer serving as your chief of police.
It was an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Ramona. During my tenure I was able to expand the department from 1f/t officer, 1p/t officer, 2 reserves and two cars to 4 f/t officers, five patrol cars and 1 to 3 reserves.
I implemented policies and procedures (there were none in place prior to 2015) in partnership with Lexipol and wrote and was awarded several grants to equip our officers with mobile data terminals, body and car cams, and brought in a more efficient reporting system.
I worked hard to develop a positive, working relationship with the sheriff's office and Cherokee Nation marshals.
We closed over 40 felony cases with convictions and assisted outside agencies in their investigations.
I am proud of what we have achieved and I am truly sad to leave.
I wish everyone the best of luck with the new department.

Chief Lynd helped serve breakfast to our Caney Valley 5th graders in celebration of their graduation from elementary.
Huge shout out to the parents that arrived at 7:30 this morning to cook this amazing breakfast!
