Ambassador Guy Harrison took part in the celebrations of the Festival of Heritage Cities at UNESCO World Heritage site Ouadane 🏛️, presided over by H.E. President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

The Ambassador met some of Mauritania’s talented artisans 👨🏾‍🎨, who are preserving Mauritania’s rich and unique heritage for future generations.

Following his visit to Atar, Ambassador Guy Harrison continued his mission in the Adrar region with a stop in Chinguetti ⛰️🇲🇷.

The Ambassador met 🤝 with the Hakem (Prefect) of Chinguetti, Mr Ba Aliou Abderahmane, for discussions on local priorities for the community.

Another meaningful step in the Adrar mission, as the journey through Mauritania’s historic cities continues.

In the lead-up to the Festival of Heritage Cities in Ouadane, Ambassador Guy Harrison visited Atar, the capital of the Adrar region.

The Ambassador met 🤝with the Mayor of Atar, Mr Brahim Mohamed Bdebba, to discuss and explore ways to support the municipality’s local priorities.

A great start to the Adrar mission and to a week celebrating Mauritania’s remarkable cultural heritage.🇬🇧🤝🇲🇷

In remembrance of those who gave their lives in both World Wars and other conflicts, we pay tribute to the five British airmen who died in service near Nouadhibou on 4 January 1944.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
